Marvel at Makeup by Numbers!

Forget paint by numbers, we have Makeup by Numbers! What a marvelous idea! Hello - makeup people - why hasn't someone thought of this sooner? Thank goodness for Laura Geller to devise such a simple system. And this system is full of beautiful, wearable colors.

lg_mupbynumbers.jpgIntroducing Laura Geller's Makeup by Numbers. For $35, look what you get in this full sized palette:
8 Eye Shadows in the Suedes, Pastels, Terracotta, and Jewels shades.
2 Blushes in Dusty Rose and Ginger Berry.
1 Candlelight Shimmer highlighting powder.
1 Matte Maker translucent powder.
And instructions for multiple looks.

I used the palette for a beautiful shimmering nighttime look recently. On my face, I applied the Matte Maker with a brush over my entire face. I chose the Dusty Rose Blush and applied it to my cheeks beginning at the tops of my ear and swept it down to the apples of my cheeks. For my eyes, I applied the lightest color in the Suedes color all over my lid up to the brow. I then took a brush and applied the deeper color from the Suedes into the crease. Then for my magic touch, I took the deeper color from the Jewels and applied that in the outer corner of my eye and softly under the lower lashes. I then dampened a very fine eye liner brush and applied it to the root of my upper lashes as well. For a finishing touch, I brushed Candlelight Shimmer on the high point of my cheek bones for a beautiful highlighting effect, and touch of it under my brow bones.

Beautiful!

And don't worry, all of the pans have a coordinating number, so it is simple to achieve the other suggested looks.

I am hoping Laura creates more Makeup by Numbers palettes in different shade selections. It is great for an experienced makeup girl for trying out new looks right down to those just starting out.
