Teri, editor, Beautiful Makeup Search Oh my!
I understand that some makeup looks are meant to be more avant garde and totally not wearable by the average makeup consumer, but I still do not like to look at girls that look to be near death walking down the catwalk.
The Rodarte Fall 2008 show was a perfect example of what is not deemed wearable, at least on me or anyone I know. Dark, almost blood-black lips, totally nude cheeks, barely there brows, and red on the eyes. NO! I would have rather seen a totally nude or natural look on the models as to not clash with the designer clothing.

That is awful. I cannot stand it when the makeup takes away from the clothes. Looking through a lot of the pictures on style.com, this collection is pretty goth and out there. But I agree that a nude or natural face would have been much much more flattering on the models.I would have rather seen something wild done with the hair, instead of it so slicked back harshly off the face.
Yes - the look is awful The whole look is bad, but the makeup. I really cannot see a professional even dreaming this up.
