Makeup Primers.

I have a strange relationship with makeup primers.

When going for a long day of makeup, I make sure to take the time to do the extra step. But for an everyday, I guess I am lazy. I think I must not have found the right makeup primer for me.

My mission over the next few months wil be to try and find a primer that I love, on that helps my makeup go on more smoothly and makes my makeup last all day. I will be hunting some down!

I did find a nice feature over on Total Beauty where 7 primers were tested. I think I might use that as a guide, at least to begin with!

Any suggestions?

I love the Smashbox Light Primer, it is oil-free and great for sensitive skin. It really does work, even though it diesn't have that silicone slippery feel. I have tested it by not wearing it under liquid and powder foundations, and the shine was coming through after 2 hours. With the primer, I was looking "dewy" after 7 or 8 and the dewy look was much better than the shiny look.

That one is definitely on my list to try, Critty. I do have the regular Photofinish primer and have used that, but it is almost too slippery for me, and I tend to only like it in the Summer.

The primer from Sephora is great. I bought it as a cheaper option from the one from Smashbox and it is as good as it! A definite must try!

Wow Teri you must have read my mind!! I am almost out of primer and have been debating whether to stick with the regular Photofinish primer or try the Photofinish Light. I will wait with bated breath to hear what you have to say. Please keep us posted!

If you're looking for a primer to be addicted to, be sure to sample Alison Raffaele's new Face Forward primer! I'm so crazy about it, I never forget to apply it in the morning.

I remember that over on Blogdorf Goodman, and it was great. There are many new primers on the market today though, and I think I want to concentrate on that plus the good ole' classics.

I remember that series on Blogdorf Goodman as well! Was one of my favorite reviews they did. You might want to check there to find some really fine suggestions for primers. Of the ones available today, my HG has become Colorescience Line Smoother/Tamer. It brightens, smooths, evens skin tone, minimizes pores and allows foundation to apply effortlessly. It has replaced my former HG of Smashbox Photofinish although I still use their travel size tube for trips. xo

THOSE MAKEUP PRIMERS ARE A HUGE RIP OFF!!!!! THE EXACT SAME STUFF IS IN MONISTAT CHAFING POWDER GEL FOR 6 BUCKS EXACT SAME AS A 78.00 PRIMER... DONT BELIEVE IT . SEE FOR YOURSELF. LOOK AT WHATS IN IT AND TRY IT. ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!
