It Starts With Hope.

bca_logo.jpgOctober is here.  And in case you did not know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Since my feature highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness products last year, I have lost a loved one to breast cancer and currently have three friends fighting the battle of their life with it. I myself, had two benign breast lumps removed.

It starts with hope. Hoping that you will not be one of the millions to get Breast Cancer. Hoping that your mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, niece, friend, neighbor - any one you know, does not get Breast Cancer. Hoping that what feels like it may be a lump, is nothing. Hoping that your mammogram is negative. Hoping that you do not carry the Breast Cancer gene. Hoping we eradicate Breast Cancer from this Earth forever.

There is more hope. Hope for a cure. Hope for those dealing with this dreadful disease. We are close they say. Close to finding a cure for this heartbreaking disease. The experts report that a girl born this year will not have to worry about Breast Cancer in her adult life. They will have a vaccine for it - or better yet, a cure for those that will still be stricken.

Please let us come together in the beauty of life, and support each other strong.

Throughout this entire month, Beautiful Makeup Search will highlight a new product each and every day in which the proceeds of it's purchase, whether all or in part, will go to somehow support Breast Cancer.  If we are going to spend money on making ourselves beautiful, purchase one of the products we feature to make you feel even better for it. You will be contributing to help support Breast Cancer Awareness, by possibly helping a woman living with Breast Cancer or to help find a cure for this epidemic.

Let's hope together, and overcome this once and for all.

Hope. It starts with hope.

What'cha Wearing?

Enquiring minds seem to always want to know what I am wearing for beauty products in any given day. I must have a few e-mails a week asking me this. I used to even have a full out feature called, What's on Your Face? when Beautiful Makeup Search was just a regular ole' online magazine (how boring - not a blog???).

So to answer this burning question, I am posting what is on my face today.

I must start out by telling you that is is cool out and very damp and rainy. I have no plans for today. My six month old baby niece is spending a few hours here (sleeping like an angel baby that she is), and the rest of my day will consist of picking up the kiddos from school, as it is raining, and dropping one off at a birthday party. I may have to run into the grocery store, and because of that, I will come in contact with those other than my family members, so makeup is on - just not so much.

My beauty routine began in the shower, where I used Philosophy's Purity Made Simple to cleanse my face. That was followed by Kiehl's Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner. For my body, I choose St. Ives Mineral Therapy Body Wash.

After drying off, I slathered myself with Maybe Baby Body Lotion from Benefit. On my face, I used Philosophy's Hope in a Tube High Density Eye and Lip Cream, as well as their When Hope Is Not Enough Replenishing Cream.

My makeup started with Benefit's Boi-ing Concealer in 02, topped with Bobbi Browns Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm in Light Tint with MAC's Studio Fix Powder in a mixture of NC20 & NC30 , for my perfect shade. I then swept Tarte's Mineral Powder Bronzer in Hotel Heiress over my cheeks and brow bones, followed by a quick swipe of Benefit's Dandelion on the tops of my cheeks and dusting over my complete eyelid. This was followed with a lash curling using Tarte's Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler  and a coat of DuWops Lash Lacquer Mascara in Carbon Black. My lips were complete with a lining with MAC's Lip Pencil in Spice and a gloss of Estee Lauders High Gloss in Honey.

After my easy, everyday makeup look was completed, I applied Frizz-Ease Corrective Styling Mousse to my hair, and scrunched it dry until I put it up in a simple ponytail - no hair spray needed!

Done!

Again, today was not a typical makeup or hair day, but an easy and decent looking one, at least.

More Minerals.

I am starting to like these Mineral makeup products more and more.  I have been using Tarte's Mineral Powder Bronzer in Hotel Heiress almost daily. Well, that got me digging into my stash and I discovered their Provocateur Mineral Pressed Powder. How did I not know that this was a Mineral Makeup product? And how could I have let this sit so long without giving it a try?

tarte_compact.jpgAnyhow - I was in luck to have discovered that I have the shade Veil - a perfect match for my fair complexion.

So there I sat, opened the refill, pulled out the sponge and starting applying the powder to my face - sans mirror. I would swipe and then look at the sponge. Hmmm - where did the product go? Did it disappear? Well - yes, it totally disappeared into my skin - leaving it flawless as it deposited the softest feeling minerals on it. This powder does not stick to the sponge, like most powders. AMAZING! There was a trace of color left behind on the sponge, but just a trace of it.  Did I say AMAZING yet?

When I went to the mirror I was so surprised. I had applied my moisturizer hours before, no primer was on my skin, I had no concealer on, nor any other makeup whatsoever. Just this new powder. And suddenly I looked like I had nearly flawless skin. No caked on makeup...no tell tale line of de-markation ...nothing but beautiful skin.

And speaking of beautiful, just how gorgeous is the box and compact that the powder refill slips into? No one would ever know that a pretty little powder were concealed in the box. Again - AMAZING!

The compact alone, with no refills is $20, and the refill alone is $19. It is so worth the splurge. (And you can just always buy the refill and keep it in the plastic clamshell!)

Next up in my newness from Tarte is their The Eraser concealing pen.  I will be back with those details soon.
