UPDATE: Bare Escentuals at Target is Illegal Diversion.
I have gotten a few e-mails since I posted yesterday about spotting Bare Escentuals at Target. One of the e-mails I received was from one of Bare Escentual's PR reps, and Bare Escentuals is saying that this is definitely some sort of illegal diversion.
Illegal diversion is when someone who is legally able to sell a product, like a distributor, unknowingly (or perhaps, knowingly) sells said product to a consolidator or retailer in which they do not have a legal contract to do so. It is like a black market product being right there on the shelves of our favorite retailers, such as Target or supermarkets and drugstores. When you see a professional hair care product on your supermarket shelf, you can pretty much know that it has been illegally diverted.
This is what is happening with Bare Escentuals. They do not know how the product was distributed to Target, but they were alerted to them selling it last Fall. They were also alerted to the fact that Bare Escentuals was being sold discounted at Costco as well. The Bare Escentuals legal team is looking into it.
Supporting the sales of Bare Escentuals at Target is just one way to make this ongoing problem grow.
Bare Escentuals at Target ?!?
Stocking up at Target, I was stunned when I saw an end cap filled with Bare Escentuals. What?
Hey, I love Tarjay for my monthly rounds of shopping for toothpaste, trash bags, laundry needs, etc.. I loved when Target started to carry Boots, a UK line. But Bare Escentuals? I realize that Bare Escentuals is a HUGE selling brand, but don't you think that making it an exclusive brand that is not available at a mass retailer makes it more sought after? Will making it more easily attainable ruin it's sales - or will it make it easier for those millions of women who use it?
The only item available online is the Beyond the Basics Kit, but there were four different kits on the end cap. (If my eight year old was not complaining, I would have stopped to take notes!)
The online price for the kit is $49, the same price that is sells for at QVC. So, being that it is available at a mass retailer is not helping bring the price down.
I am anxious to see how this does at Target. I'd love to know what you think too.

In the background this afternoon, I noticed that Leslie Blodgett was on the air quite a bit on QVC. I quickly realized that she was there with a Today's Special Value.

Back to School Beauty - Makeup Up Palettes & Kits.
One of the easiest ways to lighten up your makeup routine is by finding a great makeup palette or kit, with products for eyes, cheeks, and lips.
Using a palette or kit will not only simplify your makeup application, it will cut down on the time you spend fishing through your makeup bag to find the perfect products to go with your daily look.
I have found two perfect solutions. One is a kit, and one is a palette.
First there is the all-in-one palette, or as they call it their Quickie Chronicles, from Too Faced Cosmetics. This Quickie is called The Miss Sixty Girl.
The Miss Sixty Girl Palette includes an eye shadow quad in sunflower yellow, white pearl, shimmering pink, and dark navy; powder eyeliner duo in black velvet and black with silver glitter; shimmering peach blush; and four lip glosses in shell pink, cotton candy pink, champagne shimmer, and ruby berry red, plus a removable mini pocket mirror.
Then there is a makeup kit from Bare Escentuals. This kit is appropriately titled Renegade Chic.
The Renegade Chic kit includes a Lip Gloss in Rose Radiance, BareMinerals Eye Shadow in Dove, BareMinerals Eye Shadow in Graphite, BareMinerals Face Color in Rose Radiance, an Angled Face Brush, and an Eye Defining Brush.
Shop Sephora.com for these and more great makeup palettes and kits.

The Yummiest of Fruit Smoothies!
Bare Escentuals newest eye shadow kit is this Blendable Eye Collection - Fruit Smoothie Glimpses.
BE's shadows are the most fun to play with. You can vary the intensity of each color by using them wet or dry, or blending them together, dry over wet, and mixing them up for a darker shade to use as an eye liner.
The shades in this Fruit Smoothie kit scream Summer, and are so pretty with any skin tone. The shades include a Banana Smoothie , a beautiful shimmering icy yellow; Ginger Peach Smoothie, the prettiest shimmering shade of peach; and Mango Smoothie Glimpse, a shimmering golden coral.
Fruit Smoothie Glimpses sell for $26 at Sephora.com.

BE a Bronzed Babe!
Bare Escentuals has yet another fabulous Today's Special Value on QVC. And I am so excited because I have these products! Yipee!
I was planning on writing them up next week, but I can't help myself today because you won't beat this deal from QVC.

This is the Bronzed Babe Collection, which is a 3 piece set with a brush to give us the ultimate faux tan. It starts with a bottle of body self-tanner. This Faux Tan Sunless Tanner glides on beautifully and gives you an instant tan while slowly staining your skin with DHA, for a longer lasting tan. Note this is not for the face, just for the body. Next, there are two mineral products for the face. One is Bare Minerals Faux Tan All Over Face Color and the other Bare Minerals A Little Sun All Over Face Color. I like to use the Faux Tan swept all over my face, with A Little Sun on my cheeks, over across my nose, on my forehead, and chin - naturally where you usually get a bit more sun.
Act fast to be a Bronzed Babe soon, as it is a special today only from QVC for just $52.48 (yes, they have strange price points). But as these retail individually for $126 - it is just less than half price if you were to purchase them separately.
Who is going to join me in this bronzing fun.
And, oh yeah. This will make a great gift for that Bronzed Babe (wannabe) Mom too!
