Change the Way You Apply Makeup with the Sonic Foundation Brush.

Clarisonic has done it again and is revolutionizing the beauty industry by changing up the way you apply your makeup. Makeup? Oh, yes! Clarisonic has developed a new Sonic Foundation Brush that applies liquid makeup better than you ever thought was possible.

I was skeptical. That is probably why I have had this new Sonic Foundation Brush sitting in the box for a few weeks before giving it a try. I've seen the videos and read the hype. But, looking at the brush it just doesn't seem like it is going to work as it claims to. I finally decided that I needed to see what all the hype was about and I'm telling you in all honesty: I will never apply liquid foundation without the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush again.

So, let's break it down. The Sonic Foundation Brush is very unique. It is super soft, and that is probably why I didn't think it was going to work. But it does, because the brush uses patented oscillational technology that oscillates back and forth (meaning it blends makeup) more than 18,000 times per minute. The trick is to let the brush do the work and just move it slowly, in circular motions over your face and let the brush buff your makeup into the skin. The result is smooth, leaving an airbrushed effect.

I experimented with application techniques. I applied liquid foundation to the back of my hand, dipped the brush, applied foundation directly to my face, swiped stripes on the face; you name it. The best way that I found to apply was to place a dot of foundation on each cheek, on my forehead and on my chin and then press start. There are two speeds, but I like to use the slow speed. The device is timed (with beeps to tell you to move to the next section, but I didn't really pay attention to those) and with practice, it should only take you the 60 seconds to do your entire face.

I found by applying foundation the way I described above, I am using a lot less foundation than I normally do when using the Sonic Foundation Brush. The fibers are nonporous, so they don't absorb any of the makeup. I have tested it with both of my favorites, Armani Luminous Silk and IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream, and both work really well with the brush head.

I love the fact that the brush is anti-microbial, so the brush keeps skin clean. After I apply my foundation, I just spray it with this daily brush cleaner and rinse then let dry. I have another Clarisonic Cleansing Brush, so I use that to do my cleansing with, but if you don't, it is simple to pop the Sonic Foundation Brush head off, and pop on a Cleansing Brush head. The Sonic Foundation Brush fits every Clarisonic device.
