I've been waiting for MAC to release its version of a serum foundation and it is finally here: MAC Studio Waterweight Foundation. Let me tell you - it was so worth the wait. This foundation makes skin look perfected, feels like you are not wearing foundation and does so while pretty much invisible on the skin.
"The latest product in our Studio lineup blows the competition out of the water. Introducing M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation – an innovative foundation that delivers colour in an ultra-fluid, elegantly thin, elastic gel serum formula. With stay-true colour and sheer medium buildable coverage, it softly blurs imperfections such as pores and fine lines. The addition of Moisture-Fusion Complex provides immediate and all-day hydration, leaving skin feeling quenched and soft, supple, silky to the touch."
Let me say that I really like this foundation. From the moment that I glide it onto my skin in the morning to the end of the day, it simply looks and feels amazing. Studio Waterweight Foundation feels slippery to the touch, almost a bit oily as I apply it, but it spreads out easily onto the skin. It feels like a serum as I apply - very, very fluid. It looks invisible, more like skin care, less like foundation, yet if offers coverage and color.
I apply Studio Waterweight with my fingertips (after experimenting with a few different methods, I found this the best way to apply) and one layer offers light coverage, but that can be built to medium coverage with another layer. I just spot cover where I should need more. The great thing about it, is that it still looks and feels invisible. Flaws (fine lines and pores) are gently burred and the skin just looks gorgeous with a natural, almost luminous finish. I don't think I can express how gorgeous and natural the skin looks enough. I am super impressed.
The line up of colors is just as impressive. MAC Studio Waterweight comes in a full range of 25 shades, from NC 15 to NW 50. I normally wear NC 30 in most of the MAC foundations, but surprisingly wear NW 30 in this. I would say your best bet is to get color matched in person, by a MAC artist.
Did I mention MAC also included SPF 30 into Studio Waterwieght to truly complete this foundation? They did. I honestly don't think we could ask for more. I highly recommend this foundation and hope you give it a try.
