NARS Satin Lip Pencil Collection.

I don't know about you, but I am loving all of the new lip products that are in pencil form. The latest in this category, and probably my favorite of them all, is this new beauty just in from NARS. It's the NARS Satin Lip Pencil.

Ultra creamy and full of moisture, NARS founder and creative director François Nars hit it out of the park with these jumbo sized pencils. I love how smooth and easy the color glides onto my lips. It feels like I am not wearing anything, but I am - just beautiful, creamy color.

The creamy color lasts past the usual three hour wear mark. I seem to get at least four hours of a semi-gloss finish from these, with a slight stain to the lips lasting me the rest of the day once the finish wears off. The swatches I did on my arm (pictured below) were still lightly on my arm the next morning after tissuing off and even showering. Now can you see why these are my favorite lip color pencils I've tried?

There are 13 shades in all:

  • Het Loo - Cognac
  • Floralies - Light Apricot
  • Isola Bella - Peach Beige
  • Lodhi - Vibrant Coral
  • Biscayne Park - Pink Guava
  • Rikugien - Rose Pink
  • Golshan - Spiced Wine
  • Majella - Garnet
  • Luxembourg - Vivid Watermelon
  • Hyde Park - Cardinal Red
  • Palais Royal - Sangria
  • Yu - Shocking Pink
  • Jardin des Plantes - Fuchsia (boutique exclusive)

Of course my favorites are all in the very wearable neutral tones: Isola Bella, Rikugien and Biscayne Park.

Each NARS Satin Lip Pencil retails for $25.00 and they are available at all NARS locations, Sephora, Nordstrom and online at

I saw these but thought, they are just another one of those giant lip pencils. But now after hearing your review I think I really need to try one. I like the neutral colors too. Thinking Rikugien is for me.
Excellent review, Teri! I'm so glad to hear that they are creamy and moisturizing!! I have had trouble with the NARS Lip Pencils drying out my lips- so I am thrilled to hear that these are far more moisturizing! :D
I love your picks! I'm tempted to try both a neutral and a bright.
vivid watermelon looks pretty to me.
I love isola bella shade of a lip pencil because it really suits on daily makeup.
