Obagi Nu-Derm Sun Shield SPF 50.
I bet you didn't know that while you are reading this, I am in sunny Florida spending some much needed time by the ocean. It goes without saying that I am in self-tan mode and doing what I can to protect my skin from getting a real tan.
This year I am using a new sunscreen, well new to me, from Obagi. Nu-Derm Sun Shield SPF 50 ($46.00) is his best selling sunscreen, and I can see why.

The gentle sunscreen goes on very sheer. It is so light, unlike the feel of most sunscreen lotions. It has a bit of slip to it so it glides over skin but dries almost instantly. It feels like I am not wearing any sunscreen at all. The sand isn't sticking. I am not a white mess and when I take a dip in the pool, I don't see rings off lotion pooling around me.
Sun Shield SPF 50 contains 1 0.5% zinc oxide and 7.5% octinoxate, offering a high UVA/PA++ and UVB rating of SPF 50. Yes, that is a lot of scientific speak with the new sunscreen ratings system. All I know is that it works and protects me from the sun all day long, after just one application. Couple that with the reasons why I like it above and you understand why this one is a big win for me.

I actually met Dr. Obagi a few years ago and his philosophy and streamlined approach to skincare is amazing.
