Protect Your Lips: Lipstick and Lip Gloss with SPF.

Lips are one place on the body where many skin cancers can form. It is important that we protect our lips. I am not talking just when we go to the beach and slather on a lip sun block. I am talking every day when we expose ourselves to sunlight. In the summer, I choose lipstick and lip gloss that contain SPF. Here are my favorites.

NARS Blush & Bronzer Duos for Sephora.

NARS Bronzers are some of the very best in the industry - ever.  I think I am on my third Laguna Bronzer. I use this iconic shade multiple times a week. Pairing this bronzer with NARS' best selling blush shades is genius. NARS has created four duos exclusively for Sephora this year. These duos are essential when wanting to achieve the ultimate sun-kissed look.

NARS Blush & Bronzer Duo - $41.00 each

Delicate bright pink
Diffused brown with golden shimmer

Sparking pink champagne
Diffused brown with golden shimmer

Peachy pink with golden shimmer
Diffused brown with golden shimmer

Flirty sheer peach
Diffused brown with golden shimmer

The only problem I have with these duos is that they are just so hard to resist and I know I am going to walk out of Sephora with at least two of them. I am probably the only girl who hasn't owned Orgasm blush, so I must have it at least in this duo once and for all. I am also thinking the duo with Desire would be great this summer with my darker faux tan.

Check out the NARS Blush & Bronzer Duos at Sephora, beginning May 1, 2013.

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream.

Just when you thought the BB Cream craze was over, the beauty industry has launched what they are calling the CC Cream. The CC stands for "color correcting". A CC cream is designed to not only immediately help color correct skin with a pigment, it contains ingredients to color correct skin, for the better, over time. The first CC Cream I have tried is this one, the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream.

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream.

The full product title is a mouthful: Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF30. The title, in fact, does say a lot about the cream. It is a CC Cream, so it color corrects. It is part of the Clinique Moisture Surge line, so it is hydrating. And it contains an SPF 30. What it doesn't tell you is how nice it feels on my skin and how much better my skin looks before makeup. That means I need less foundation and my makeup looks better when I use this.

You see Clinique's experts incorporated advance color correcting technology that utilizes light to achieve radiant, glowing and healthy-looking skin. The color is dual layered. It features special color correcting optics to scatter light multi-dimensionally to neutralize skin's complexion. It makes my skin look more even and radiant, as it gives my skin a soft, almost radiant glow. And that is before foundation.

I like to think of this CC Cream as is a primer with treatment properties. While it is true that this can be worn in place of foundation, I cannot wear it alone and call it a day. I honestly don't think many could. UPDATE: I wrote this a few weeks ago and need to correct the previous statements. I wore this cream over the weekend INSTEAD of foundation. My skin is looking amazing and the light coverage was enough for me. It has a lightweight texture that feels great as it glides over my skin. My skin looks more even and more radiant. When going for a full makeup look, I will use it before makeup, which makes my makeup look better. For everyday, I will use it on its own.

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream.Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Medium

Clinique CC Cream comes in six shades. I am using the shade medium. It is important that you don't go too light, so the shade is an important factor here.

  • Very Light
  • Light
  • Light Medium
  • Medium
  • Medium Deep
  • Deep

Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream retails for $34.00 and is available now at all Clinique locations and online at clinique.com.
