Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York.

For all the latest Mercedes Benz Fashion Week beauty coverage, be sure to check out the NYFW tab above. I am going to post all the looks sent to me from backstage. Be sure to check in everyday to see the latest in makeup, hair and nails from the runways.

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) for the Spring 2013 season started this morning in New York City. The shows will continue in New York for the next week, before other designers start showing in other cities of the world. To see the latest on twitter, check out the hashtag #NYFW and #MBFW. I still refer to it as NYFW, even though the "official" Mercedes Benz Fashion Week hashtag is the later. Leave it to the bloggers to set the trend and come up with our own NYFW hashtag before the fashion people took notice and corrected us with their own.

How To: Big, Bold Brows as Seen at Fashion Week.

Big, bold brows were a trend seen at many Spring/Summer New York Fashion Weeks shows.  To get in on this trend next season, you might want to start now by growing in the brows and getting them in shape to be on trend.

Talika can help you with two of their products. One is to help grow lashes over time, the other to instantly fill in.

Talika Eyebrow Lipocils ($40)
This is the perfect natural remedy to overplucked brows. Use Eyebrow Lipocils twice daily for 28 days to naturally condition the brows with nettle extract and horse chestnut. The formula helps to stimulate both growth and thickening. After 28 days, use oncee daily to maintain your results.

Talika Eyebrow Extender ($35)
Apply the Eyebrow Extender to the brows for an immediate thickening effect. The gel/fiber hybrid—available in three shades to match brow color (light brown, dark brown and black), adheres to the brow area, creating the appearance of a bold, full brow instantly.

Fashion Week S/S 2012: Backstage at Carlos Miele.

As the official makeup sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Maybelline New York led a number of shows backstage this season.  One such show was for the Spring/Summer Collection of Carlos Miele.

Keyed by Maybelline New York Makeup Artist Gato Zamora, the look was beautifully simple, yet sophisticated and very wearable. “The inspiration for the makeup look at Carlos Miele comes from a desire to focus on the natural beauty and femininity of a woman,” said Zamora. “We wanted to create a sophisticated yet simple look for a night out.”

How to get the look:

Fit Me! Concealer™: Seamless skin is the key to this look. Gato prepped skin with Fit Me! Foundation™. Next, he dotted concealer onto the middle of the forehead, mid-cheek, brow bone, upper cheekbone and into the inner corners of the eyes. He blended with his fingers to make skin appear naturally flawless.

Fit Me! Bronzer™: To contour and give the face depth, Gato applied this blendable bronzer from the outer forehead to the temple, under the cheekbone and under the jaw line. This bronzer is one of my favorite Maybelline products. I use it regularly in Medium Bronze.

Eye Studio Color Explosion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Caffeine Rush™: Gato layered the two chocolate brown shades in this highly pigmented palette over the entire eyelid. To ignite light around the eyes, he used the luminizing shade in the inner corners. This is one trick I see makeup artists do time and time again.

Volum’ Express One-by-One Mascara in Blackest Black™: Gato finished the look by applying one coat of this clean volume mascara.

Color Sensational High Shine Lipcolor in Nude Glow™: Gato added natural color a glamorous shine to the lips with this sumptuous lipstick. Take it from me on this lipcolor, it is beautiful and perfect for every day. I haven't tried it yet, but just from seeing it, I know I need to have this shade.

I can see myself recreating this look for a summer evening out, couldn't you? It's gorgeous, and I will tell you that this type of look will be one women will be wearing next Spring and Summer.
