The Walmart Beauty Department.

Who isn’t trying to save money these days? Everyone I know is either trying to save money or make their money stretch further. Easy ways to do this is by shopping around a bit. When it comes to beauty, usually department and drugstore prices are pretty much the same. With one exception. Walmart.

How lovely to be a woman...

Have you seen the Walmart beauty department lately? With their everyday low prices, you know the prices on your favorite brand name beauty items are lower than anywhere else. And name brands are a plenty in the Walmart beauty department. I was in my local Walmart store over the weekend, and I am still in awe of the selection.

As we are finally in the midst of the warmer sunny weather of spring, the self-tanner and sunscreen aisle was my first stop. I looked over the latest in sun care from Aveeno, Jergens, and L’Oreal. I spotted Aveeno Natural Actives Daily Moisturizing Lotion with an SPF of 15. We all know how important it is to use sunscreen everyday, and having it built right into the body lotion is a huge plus. For my pasty white (so in need of some color) legs, I picked up Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer. A gradual, yet faster self-tan is promised, and I cannot wait to give it a try - before I pull out the Capri pants, of course. I also noticed my favorite L’Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Spray which I always stock up on for my faux tan - and the price was lower than I ever remembered.

I also took a walk down the skincare and makeup aisles. I was happy to see low prices on my favorite skincare goodies like Aveeno, Biore, Burt’s Bees, Cetaphil, Clean & Clear, Dove, Garnier Nutritioniste, L’Oreal Paris, Neutrogena, Olay, St. Ives and more. I swear the entire L’Oreal Skin Genesis line was in stock, which is my pick for superb anti-aging skincare at affordable prices. The new Olay Pro-X products were there too. The makeup aisles seem to go on and on with brands that included Almay, CoverGirl, L’Oreal, Maybelline, Neutrogena and Revlon. I loved looking at the displays with the newest products from various lines too. The displays always keep you on trend and make selecting the latest beauty products at the best prices a breeze.

I was probably most excited about the hair care aisle. Besides spotting some Nexxus products (Nexxus at Walmart!), my new favorite L’Oreal EverPure products were there at the lowest prices I have seen. Because I have been regularly shopping for this shampoo and conditioner, I will tell you that the money I saved is large enough for me to make the trip to Walmart to stock up regularly.

I am sure you have seen the latest cute Walmart commercials featuring the beauty department, and they really have upped the status quo there. Be pleasantly surprised, like me, next time you are in store and definitely check out their beauty aisles. Stock up and then thank me (and Walmart) for the savings.
