NYFW: Makeup at DKNY.

I was outside the tents as the DKNY show was about to start. This is show was heavily protested by PETA. There were some blood soaked rabbit costumes being won everywhere and a lot of chanting about compassion for fashion, etc.. Hey, I am against animal cruelty for sure, but as this is a Spring/Summer show, I was confused. As in, I don't think Donna Karan even thought of using any type of rabbit fur in her collection - which there was not. So I did not understand the heavy protest.

Anyway, the makeup was done by the amazing MAC Lead Artist Charlotte Tilbury. I really have loved her work in the past and was excited to see her work for DKNY.

“THE LOOK IS FRESH AND HANDSOME. THE GIRL IS QUITE COOL WITH A LITTLE TWIST, A POLISHED CHIC FRENCH GIRL BUT WITH A HARD EDGE.”
– CHARLOTTE TILBURY

It looked very fresh faced, if you ask me. Not heavy, but I think it was too pale on the lightest girls.

NYFW: Makeup at Liz McClean.

The makeup at the Liz McClean show as done by MAC Lead Artist Hung Vango.

“SHE IS A SCHOOL GIRL – SHE IS COOL BUT DOESN’T KNOW IT. THE LOOK IS A MIX OF FEMININE AND MASCULINE, TO MIRROR THE COLLECTION WHICH IS BOHEMIAN AND MILITARY.” – HUNG VANGO

I love all of the products he used for the look, and loved to see him using that Cream Colour Base for so much. I love learning to use products in different ways, especially when it is so out of the box, but totally do-able.
