M.A.C. Prep + Prime Highlighter.

It wasn’t until recently that I began using highlighter products. I used to think they were a non-essential, just something else to clutter the makeup drawer. I’ve dabbled with a few, but I was never super impressed. That is, until I met M.A.C. Prep + Prime Highlighter ($23).

Let’s take a look at the stats, first, shall we? M.A.C. Prep + Prime Highlighter is available in three shades: Light Boost (soft yellow creme), Radiant Rose (light shell pink), and Bright Forecast (light peachy coral). Delivered in a click-style pen, this highlighter promises to deliver sheer color and radiance. M.A.C. suggests that this product can be “use[d] over makeup for highlights, touchups, or under makeup to brighten and prime”. Sounds intriguing! I love a good multipurpose product.

Let me tell you: I dislike click-pens in a big way. I’m usually a little biased against anything with a click-pen package simply because I find them so annoying. With that out of the way… I am in love with M.A.C. Prep + Prime Highlighter. Yes, it’s love! You got me, M.A.C. As they always wow me with the MAC Holiday Collections too.

This highlighter is everything promised: a sheer wash of color that adds an irresistible glow that’s not too shimmery or over the top. It is fabulous to brighten under the eyes, add a cheek or brow highlight, or even as a eye-shadow primer. Even better? I’ve found it to be pretty long-lasting and smudge-proof. (Even when trying to tissue off the swatch on my hand - ha!)

M·A·C Turquatic.

Not a fan of fragrance, I do get drawn to ocean and sea created scents.  I don't know if it is that I force myself to like them as I love the beach so much, or maybe it is the fact that I really do like the gentle notes in the fragrance that represent the sea. Either way, I am definitely intrigued by this new one from MAC called Turquatic.

Modern girls (and boys) who like to make waves, the ones who’ve become addicted to Turquatic, M·A·C’s sensual sea-spray of a fragrance, bracing with Anemone, Lotus, Orris, and a curious waft of Corsican Blue Cedar from the shore, will love this: we’ve completely recreated and expanded the look of Turquatic with new, evocative packaging to satisfy that legion of mesmerizing mermaids who want more. Just look! A sleek NEW rollerball option, as well as the debut of our larger 50 ml size, artfully reimagined in glass and a folding carton to make it all the more chic. Like Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus,” Turquatic has become a NEW M·A·C Classic.

The fragrance is described as crisp and energizing! A splash of clear, sparkling mineral water brought chilled through an infusion of fresh lotus leaves and Corsican cedrat, finished with a warm blend of anemone, orris and blue cedar.

The rollerball option is making me want this even more! Maybe there will be a fragrance in this years MAC Holiday 2011 collection.

M·A·C Seasonally Supreme.

Here today and part of the permanent collection, M·A·C Seasonally Supreme is beautiful range of lipsticks in twelve new shades.

We said “Oui!” to the style-savvy world of Europe with our Euristocrats colour collections, and now we’ve set our sights on the Far East where fashion is a-boom!  It’s where the latest runway fads appear overnight to make their gotta-have-it debuts and where fashion addicts indulge their cravings with fierce cult-like fascination. Tokyo scenesters, Seoul trendies, Shanghai’s brand-conscious sophisto-chicks, all are contributing to make Asia a haute-pot that stylishly sizzles. To add to the frenzy: M·A·C’s new collection Sheen Supreme, a sweet and spicy palette of twelve cream-or-frost-finished shades that speaks to the region’s colour preferences in the fusion of Lipglass’ high-shine finish with the saturated colour of a Lipstick. Colour-customized, culturally tuned. What could be more Supreme?

I love the Sheen Supreme lipstick.  The vanilla scent, the rich pigmented colors, all with a high glossy sheen is what beckons for me.  I usually use lipgloss over lipstick for a sheen, whether I am going subtle or not.  This one of the very few lipsticks that I can use without a gloss and am continually happy with the result.

Here are the new colors in the collection.
