This weeks makeup war has us girls talking about our favorite summer lip look. Of course I use two lip products to create my perfect summer lip color. I know, I can never be simple. ;)

I currently use Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine in Pink Seashell and NARS Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Gold Digger for the perfect pink gold peach shade. Does that color even make sense? Well, it does to me, and once you see it together, I think it will for you.

Makeup Wars: $20 Makeup Challenge.

This week's "Makeup War" is a different take on a "war" because we took on a HUGE makeup challenge, the $20 Makeup Challenge. The challenge was to complete a full face of makeup for $20 (or less). It was difficult. Difficult to even think about! Most items in my makeup wardrobe sell for over $20 EACH, so I was stumped.

Once I started searching for products, the challenge started to get fun. I had a great time seeing how much I could save on beauty products. There are so many coupons out there and even BOGO 50% off offers. If you use things like CVS/pharmacy Extra Bucks too, you could really save.  Ultimately I only used a 25% off coupon on two items and found a great L'Oreal Paris foundation on clearance at Target. Beside those extra bonuses, I payed full price for the rest.

I wound up with almost 20 items that could be mixed and matched to get my makeup done in under $20.  But I wanted to really like the look and be comfortable wearing my $20 makeup. I finally found a combination of products that I really like, and decided that I could not compromise on foundation or mascara. The total was just $19.12. Yes, I had change to spare! The look is a beautiful everyday, lightly bronzed look that is perfect for these sunny days of summer.

Makeup Wars: Midnight Rodeo in Battle of the Taupes.

I've joined in with a group of great beauty bloggers for Makeup Wars. Every few weeks, we will post on the same (or similar) product so readers can see a variety of posts, ideas and reviews on the same subject. Fun, right? That's what I thought and it is why I was thrilled to be ask to join in the fun.

This week, we are in a "Battle of the Taupes", with each of us posting about our favorite taupe colored eye shadow. At the end of this post, you can scroll through to see all the Battle of the Taupes posts.

Choosing my favorite taupe shadow was not as easy as I thought it would be. I use a lot of taupe shadows. I like darker, more gray taupes in the cooler months; while I like lighter and pink-y taupes in the warmer months. Not only did I have a lot to choose from, I am always buying more taupe shadows. In fact, I have one of Urban Decay's new Build Your Own Palettes filled with a variety of taupe shadows. One shadow does deserve the title of my favorite and it is Midnight Rodeo.
