Getting Healthy with Nutrisystem: Week 16.

16 weeks ago, I never thought that I would be sitting here experiencing the success that I have had with Nutrisystem. With the support of everyone there, my amazing friends and family, and the ongoing encouragement from you; I have been very successful.

Weight Loss Success

It wasn't easy at first, but I am on my way to meeting my weight loss goals. I am healthier and feeling great. In just 16 weeks, I have lost 26 pounds! I honestly never thought I would stick with the program as well as I have or have been as successful as I have been.

I would like to lose about 15 more pounds and though I will not be 100% on Nutrisystem, I do have a plan in place. I will continue to exercise and eat smaller portions. I am going to continue to drink a Nutrisystem protein shake daily and I will be stocking up on some of my favorite Nutrisystem bars that I have come to love and depend on. I will update you from time to time on my "Getting Healthy" progress. Wish me luck! I am determined to meet my goal.

Getting Healthy with Nutrisystem: Week 15.

After hitting what I thought was a plateau last week and making a few changes to become successful again this week (yay!), I did a bit of thinking to figure out what has made me successful on Nutrisystem thus far. I think the one thing that has been super important that helps me in every which way is drinking a lot of water.

It is recommended to drink at least eight 8oz. glasses of water each day while on Nutrisystem. I drink so much more water than that. I recently added a water cooler to my office and figured a five gallon jug of water would last me a few weeks. I was so wrong. A five gallon jug of water lasts me less than a week. I was SHOCKED to figure out that I actually drink almost a gallon of water a day. I'll admit that I do spend a lot of time in the bathroom, but I am also constantly back to the cooler grabbing another glass of water. I use it for my cup of tea in the morning. I use it to my make milkshake. I use it whenever I feel hungry. I drink a full glass before each meal and I'm sure to drink a full glass with each meal as well. I swear this helped me to be as successful as I have been.

And that plateau that I though I hit? I made one little change as suggested the counselors at Nutrisystem, and that was to change up my lunch and dinner few times a week. It was suggested that I eat lunch at dinner time and dinner at lunch time. I did that three times this week and I think that did the trick! I lost 2.5 pounds this week, making my total weight loss to date 24.5 pounds! I was shocked and pretty proud to see the number that I did on my scale this week.

Getting Healthy with Nutrisystem: Week 14.

This is the week where I hit a wall. I swear I am not making an excuse because I continue to put in all the work. I am following the program. I did my exercise and ate how I am supposed to. I will tell you at beginning of my post that this week on Nutrisystem, I did not lose any weight. I did not gain any either, but I am disappointed. I am worried that I hit a plateau.

I have had help with the dietician before, and I just sent off another email to her. I am sure I need to adjust my program and either add in more exercise or change up the program a bit. My body is probably used to the program at this point.

I do exercise a lot more than what is suggested. Nutrisystem suggests 3 - 10 minute activities a day. I walk (a brisk walk at that) for a full sixty minutes every morning. I also go to the gym at least 3 times a week for about 45 minutes and ride the bike and do the Cybex machines. On the days that I don't go to the gym, I walk another 30 - 40 minutes each evening. My evening walk has turned into more of an interval workout with a few minutes of jogging worked into the brisk walking. I am definitely getting my exercise in.

For any of you on weight loss programs, what have you done to work through that plateau? I am on track, but I still have those goals to reach. To this point, I have lost 22 pounds.
