Pink Products: Darphin Arovita C Energic Firming Cream.

This is another Breast Cancer Awareness entry, and one that I cannot wait to give a thorough test to. It is the Arovita C Energic Firming Cream from Darphin.

This invigorating, vitamin-enriched face cream that helps to firm and fortify the skin's natural resiliency to help correct the loss of elasticity in the face and neck.  Packed with vitamins, this cream will renew and protect fragile skin at the same time.

Darphin will donate $20.00 from each sale of Arovita C Energic Firming Cream during the month of October to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Darphin products can be purchased online and select spas, Bergdorf Goodman, Space NK and bluemercury locations.

The Lumixyl Experiment.

I have been dealing with hyperpigmentation for years. As I get older, it inevitably gets worse. Much worse. I actually went to the dermatologist recently and have a prescription, for which I have yet to fill. Why not? First off, I am hesitant to use it with its' high concentration of hydroquinone. Don't get me wrong, if all else fails, I will try it. Second, I just read about this new hydroquinone alternative called Lumixyl, and I want to give it a try first.

Lumixyl is a brand new skin brightening cream that claims to be non-irritating. It contains a newly found synthetic peptide technology that has been helping to improve the appearance of unwanted discoloration, age spots, sun spots and uneven skin tone.

Developed by dermatological researchers at Stanford University, Lumixyl's ground-breaking technology is the only peptide shown to measurably promote healthy skin function in restraining tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for initiating the overproduction of melanin, that can cause uneven pigmentation and dark spots.

The studies have proven that Lumixyl has been very successful in improving hyperpigmentation. From everything I have read, I have decided that Lumixyl deserves a good try, as I said. I am going to chronicle my experience here, with photos of my forehead, where I have the worst sun damage. Every week or so, I will update on my "Lumixyl Experiment" so you can hear and see how it is working for me.

I do have a lot of freckle, and I never expect them to disappear. It is the more blotchy areas, that are like patches of molted together freckles. Those are the areas where I really hope to see improvement.

Lumixyl is only available through a dermatologist or physician for $120 for 1 oz.

StriVectin-SD Eye Cream.

Wow. Sometimes products just knock me off my feet, that I need to shout to the skies just how fantastic they are. Such a case is with this great little tube of StriVectin-SD Eye Cream, from Klein-Becker.

This is probably the fastest working eye treatment I have ever used! Within just days, my entire eye area is smoothing out. Especially under my eyes, the skin is toned, a bit taught, and such an even shade of color. The fine lines around my eye are diminishing! The area is almost strangely smooth - really.

StriVectin-SD Eye Cream is a multi-action orbital eye area perfector enriched with Striadril, a key compound containing patented pentapeptides that help to significantly improve the appearance of fine lines by aiding the build up of collagen. Unlike many other anti-aging treatments, Striadril is more stable (for longer shelf life), better tolerated (causes less irritation), safer, and more effective.

I remember testing this product out a few years ago when it was firt on the market, and after my tube was gone, I thought I was onto bigger and better things. I am thrilled to have been re-introduced, and this will become a long-time staple back into my skin care routine.

If you need really quick help in your eye area, I urge you to try out this eye cream. StriVectin-SD Eye Cream sells for $59 at Sephora. It is a true bargain for what it does.
