A Perfect Surface.

I am always on the hunt for a great concealer. And a concealer that doesn't need a a touch-up throughout the day is difficult to find. While I have a few favorites that I use in the winter, I have been looking for something lighter, that can be touched up when needed during the hot summer months.

Voila - a new product from DuWop called Surface. Packaged in a lipstick tube, it reminded me of my very first concealer I used in high school. With all the new packaging on the market, DuWop hit it out of the ballpark with this ordinary packaging of an extraordinary product.

Surface is very smooth, and lightweight. It is the perfect texture to cover up under-eye circles and spots here and there. And for the portability I have been looking for, this is it.

When I apply it under my foundation, I simply swipe it on, and blend with my finger. But get how easy this is - when needing a later day touch-up, I just swipe it on, and leave it. No muss, no fuss. It is just so perfect where it is put.

Surface comes in 4 versatile, easy to match shades for $22.50. Look for DuWop's surface at Sephora.com.

And the Award for the Best Beauty Look Goes to...

Some of the girls looked so fab at the Emmy's Sunday night, that I had a really hard time narrowing down my choices as to whom my favorites were.

But I chose - and here are my top 3 picks.

She is just such a real looking woman, and I love her Emmy look. From the pale skin, pink cheeks, nude lip, and dark eyes - I want it all. And this look is pretty easy to duplicate which makes it an even bigger plus for me.

Heidi Klum -

No wonder she is known as a Super Model. She always looks fabulous, and I think she took her Emmy look right from Shakespeare. She is one Roman Goddess. The hair so goes with the dress, and the makeup - it is just perfect.

Katherine Heigl -

Where has she been hiding her glamorous side?  I mean she is just glowing with glamour. The dark eyes with her slightly bronzed skin and peach/pink lip is perfect. On E! I heard that her makeup was from DuWop. Enquiring minds want to know exactly which products and shades were used on her.  Beautiful!

Back to School Beauty - Hide the Red!

So, you have been out partying a little late have you? Or is that red blemish got you scrambling through your makeup bag to find yet a better way to hide it?

Either way, I have found the best red concealing agent from Tarte called Yellow Mellow!

tarte_yellow.jpgPlease, don't let the lemon yellow color scare you, as it does it's job of hiding even the most hard to cover redness.

This dandy duo features a yellow based cream concealer and yellow loose powder. It is simple to use by taking your finger and dipping it into the cream concealer. Make sure to dab it on all blemishes and blend it out over larger red areas. Then you take the great little kabuki brush (it is included!) and swirl that into the powder, and gently sweep the powder over your face.

For spot coverage, I just take a bit of the powder and pat it over the blemish that I already used the concealer on, and dab the powder over it. It sets it, blends it, and never looks cakey or dry.

Yellow Mellow truly is a dream for those of us who have to deal with redness in any way. And where else can you get a great concealer, loose powder, and kabuki brush for only $25?

Note to Tarte: we would love to see this combo in regular concealer shades too!
