Simply Shea Butter.

Shea Butter has been long known for it's healing and moisturizing properties.

But what exactly can it do, and where does it come from?

I turned to Bath by Bettijo's Bettijo Hirschi for some answers.

This lush butter is extracted from the pit of a fruit, resembling a plum, which grows on the Mangifolia Tree, also called the Shea Nut Tree. The moisturizing power of Shea Butter was once a revered secret of the natives in the savannas of Central Africa, where the Mangifolia Tree grows wild. Traditionally Shea Butter has been used in Africa as a healing balm for rheumatism, muscle aches, burns, and light wounds. Shea Butter softens and nourishes skin and is believed to have antioxidant and regenerative properties. This emollient is especially useful for renewing skin suffering from the effects of sun or wind.

Now, there are products that may contain Shea Butter, but to get the true beneficial results from using Shea Butter, you should use it in it's most natural, or raw form. For this, we recommend the following:

Bath by Bettijo's Whipped Shea Butter, which comes in scented and unscented versions. My personal favorite is her Lemon Almond Scent. I keep it in the fridge to keep it cool, as I just love how it melts into my warm summer skin when applied. This is a skin-saver for my hands and elbows.

non_scents_sheabutter.jpgAnother raw version I like is That's Non-Scents Fragrance-Free 100% Pure Refined Shea Butter. This Shea Butter is naturally refined by cold pressing, with no added chemicals or fragrances additives. It is more of a pure butter form. In this form and with no additives, it can even be used on your face, not only to treat sun or wind chapped skin, but used prior to exposure to help prevent it in the first place.

A GlowFusion Alternative.

If you have been searching for GlowFusion reviews, you have come to the right place. We have more than a handful of reviews from real people, and you can read all about them here: A Beauty Breakthrough

Not having the best experience with GlowFusion myself, I thought I would recommend my GlowFusion Alternative.

modelco.jpgModelCo Tan Airbrush In A Can  is my alternative of choice.  With a 360-degree nozzle spraying the finest of mist to cover every body area evenly, this self-tanner is the closest to GlowFusion - but with better results, for me anyway.

The Coverage: Great! The mist sprays out very fine, and if you take your time and spray slowly, you get very even coverage. I recommend buying the tinted version first to get a feel of how the spray works. Areas like the back of arms and legs, even the neck are easy to reach with this spray. I like this best for my neck, back, chest and arms. Hands are a breeze with this formula. All you do is keep your fingers closed tightly to avoid staining the palms, and spray lightly a bit further from your hands than you would normally spray your body, and you get a very light coverage. With you hands, remember that less is more!

The Smell: Very slight. When initially spraying the formula, you smell a scent of cocoa butter in the air. It is very light and fresh. The smell of DHA is ever so faint, and really doesn't appear until the color is fully developed in 3 - 4 hours.

Drying Time: Fast! If sprayed correctly, this self-tanner dries within 2 - 3 minutes. If you are spraying so much that you see your body wet, you are spraying too much.

Staining: The translucent formula does not stain or transfer anywhere. You can dress as soon as you are dry or slip right into white sheets and not worry. The original formula that leaves color when sprayed, will leave a residue on everything it touches as you spray. I spray it in an area of my basement with old sheets on the floor. Do not spray this version in the bathroom as you will notice a build-up of colored dust that is a real pain to clean. When using the colored formula, wait a good 15 - 20 minutes before dressing or slipping between the sheets.

Lasting Time: 5 - 7 days! REALLY, I spray myself with this once a week. Sometimes I will apply it after 5 days if I want to darken up a little more, but plan on a full body spray at least once a week.

Price: ModelCo Tan Airbrush In A Can comes in three sizes, 1.7 oz (good for 1 - 2 complete body sprays) for $7, 5.3 oz for $28, or 7.8 oz for $36.  ModelCo Tan Translucent Airbrush In A Can  comes in just one 5.3 oz size for $28.
