Essential Eyes.

I have never had the privilege to use any of Make Up For Ever's products, so you will understand my excitement when I finally tried a great kit of theirs - The Essential Eye Set.

makeupforever.jpgThe Essential Eyes Set is a limited edition kit, only available at Sephora. In simple terms, this kit contains everything to create a basic eye look - with multiple variations.

The set includes 3 neutral brown shades, an iridescent yellow beige, a metallic taupe, and an iridescent brown black. It also contains two Star Powders, which are loose powders similar to a MAC pigment or Bare Escentuals Eye Shadow, in a pearly gold and an iridescent beige. It also includes waterproof Pearly Eye liner in black. Oh and there is also a DVD included with tips from Dany Sanz, the makeup artist behind the brand.

For the daytime, I really like the yellow-beige shade all over with the metallic taupe in the crease of my lid.  I add a bit of either of the Star Powders right in the middle of my brow bone, and sometimes right on the inside corner of my eye, by my tear duct, to brighten it all up. To jazz that look up, I add the darkest black-brown in the crease or use it as an eye liner, if I don't feel like using the pencil.

If you know someone who loves playing with eye makeup, or perhaps someone who is pretty much a novice, then this set is for them.

The value of this set is a whopping $123, but it retails for just $60.

I can't wait to try more from Make Up For Ever.

One to Display.

What a pretty display! And a pretty display of eye shadows to boot. What am I speaking of? Why the Bourjois Astonishing Acrobat Eye Shadow Tin, of course.

Bourjois Ashtonishing Acrobat.jpg

This is one of those products you need to display proudly on your vanity, or in your bathroom for all to delight in viewing.

Packed into this beautiful vintage style tin are three "astonishing" eye shadows. The colors are the colors of the season. A beautiful frosty smoky eye will sparkle when applied - either in an everyday way, or a more dramatic one for the evening. And there are even directions (on a cute little "tip" card) on how to get a bevy of looks. The colors are soft silver, a light pink, and a almost black, dark blue.

Bourjois Astonishing Acrobat Eye Shadow Tin is just $28 over at Sephora.com.

Quite Impressed with These Brushes!

If you browsed our Stocking Stuffer post, you will see that we recommend the Sonia Kashuk Brush Up on Style 6 piece Makeup Brush Set.

sk.bmpAnd if you don't know Sonia Kashuk is, she a phenomenal makeup artist that has fused "a professional makeup artist line with the Target chic, yet affordable image." It is the Sonia Kashuk Professional Makeup Line exclusively for Target.

I have to admit, I am very impressed with the quality of brushes she has available for the very low prices. The brushes are all full, with nice quality handles. They are basically nothing short of what you would come to expect from a professional makeup artist. They are quality - professional quality. And they work as they intend. The shadow brushes are some of the most superior brushes I have used!

Sonia has come up with a multitude of brush sets, perfect for giving them a good try out for yourself. And of course, they are great to give too.
