I love a great new lippie and summer is as good a time as any to find a great new one to update your look. MAC is all about the summer lips this year with two collections dedicated to this one product category and I couldn't be impressed more. If you are looking for a new full-on lip color or gloss in summer hottest hues, then look at Blue Nectar. But if you are looking for a new product innovation, you'll definitely want to check out the brand new Tendertalk Lip Balm. Being lippie obsessed, I couldn't help but want or recommend both.

Not all skin types are created equal. While my Mom has long-written about the top foundations for all skin types or her favorite foundations, I think she has left out those of us that have generally more oily skin. Now, my skin is not overall oily, it's usually just the t-zone, but come summer — BOOM — I am like an oil factory and need to change up my foundation. When CHANEL does a makeup collection, they look for inspiration. For this years summer makeup collection, Danis La Lumière de L’été, they not only looked at the desert adventure (another nod to the music festival culture?), they looked at the desert and shimmering sand itself. One glance at the beautiful Quadra eyeshadow palette and you will see what I mean.
