A New Hi-Tech Beauty Tool to Love: Conture.

You know I am always looking for the latest in cutting edge beauty tools and treatments. Well, I've found one and it's unlike any other that I've ever tried before. This brand new device is called Conture and it is doing so much to change my skin for the better. In fact, it's clinically proven to work!

A New Hi-Tech Beauty Tool to Love: Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System

Conture is a Kinetic Skin Toning System similar to the technology used by professionals in clinics and med-spas who charge a lot for the service. What it does is "wake up" the skin by safely lifting and releasing it with a specialized vacuum system. It does so with isometric compression combined with ultra-low frequency sonic vibrations to gently stimulate and tone the skin.

The Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System is really a device unlike any other I have ever experienced. The device performs various little suctions as I move it across my face, jawline and neck. It's these compressions that are stimulating the skin, similar to a skin massage. It is safe, painless and non-invasive.

Conture is very easy to use. A typical treatment takes two - three minutes in each zone. I have been targeting my jawline, jowls and cheeks. There are three settings on the device; Face, Mild and Neck. I use the Face setting and press the cup firmly against the skin until there is a seal, slowly glide the device in an upward motion and let the device do the work. It sort of feels like something suckling on the skin.

The results are impressive; my skin is not only glowing, more-so than ever before, it is toned, more firm and plump looking. As soon as I complete a treatment, my skin is immediately glowing and super soft and smooth. I swear that is looks lifted in the areas that I have been targeting. Overall, signs of aging are greatly improved and my skin just looks healthier and better than it has in a really long time. I've only been using Conture for about three weeks and once a day, but it's sort of addicting because the results are so immediate. I'm going to be making it a part of my daily routine to even further better my results.

As I said, Conture has been clinically shown to deliver results. The percentage of subjects with clinical improvements are as follows:

  • 90% Saw an improvement in Radiance & Luminosity
  • 84% Saw an improvement in Face & Neck Texture, Smoothness & Evenness
  • 81% Saw a Lift in Facial Skin
  • 78% Saw an improvement in Crow's Feet, Fine Lines & Wrinkles
  • 78% Saw an improvement in Facial Firmness

Currently Obsessed: Cover FX Custom Infusion Drops.

You know when you are sticking to your beauty routine but you feel like something is missing but you can't quite put your finger on it? Well, that is probably due to the fact that your skins needs change from one day to the next. One day is it dull and lackluster, another day it is super dry.  It's nearly impossible to change out your products everyday unless you have a beauty closet stocked with every product imaginable. That's where the new Cover FX Custom Infusion Drops come in. These serum-like drops add a concentrated boost of essential oils and vitamins to whatever products you're already using to create a customized solution based upon your skins needs.

COVER FX Custom Infusion Drops

I'm pretty much obsessed with these Custom Infusion Drops and I have honestly been using a different one each day depending on what I feel like my skins concerns are. There are four different formulas, which I am going to describe below. I've also been known to mix two different drops in at the same time — you'll know why when you see the descriptions below.

Here are the four Custom Infusion Drops targeted formulas:

Cover FX Custom Infusion Drops

A + Jasmine: Anti-Aging - These Drops are enriched with Vitamin A to support natural cell turnover. This will help to visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time no matter what type of other treatment product you are using. The Jasmine oil helps boost skin hydration.

C + Lemongrass: Radiance - These Drops contain Lemongrass to help tone the skin along with Vitamin C (which you know I love) to help brighten dull skin.

E + Chamomile: Calming - These Drops contain Vitamin E and Chamomile which are both comforting ingredients to help nourish and sooth the skin.

F + Neroli: Hydrating - With concentrated Vitamin F, Neroli oil and Sodium Hyaluronate, these Drops help the skin to better hold onto moisture and improve its' elasticity.

COVER FX Custom Infusion Drops

The Custom Infusion Drops are easy to use. Simply put whatever skin care product you are going to use (moisturizer, serum, oil, etc.) into the palm of your hand, drop in one Custom Infusion Drop, mix with your fingertip and apply as usual. This will give you a customized and transformed treatment product.

As I am obviously quite concerned with aging, I tend to use the A + Drops often. I usually add this Custom Infusion Drop into whatever night cream I am using. I use the F + Drop probably the most because I'm all about the extra added moisture and skin plumping effect that I get from this Custom Infusion Drop. I like mixing both of these at night, but use the F + Drop on it's own during the day a lot as well. When I am lacking on the sleep, I use the C + Drops and when my skin is stressed (after I use a beauty tool or after a peel or facial) I mix in the E + Drops.

Buy the Custom Infusion Drops at coverfx.com and Sephora. Each bottle sells for $48.

Best Skincare Discoveries of 2015.

With everything I tried over 2015, I think I am most excited about all of the great new skincare discoveries that I made. I really did a 360 where my skin was concerned this year as I noticed significant aging that came on due to instant menopause with a hysterectomy at the end of 2014 and another health crisis at the beginning of 2015. I looked 10 years older almost overnight and I had to do something.

It took a series of products and treatments, but I have to say that after everything, my skin is glowing and looking younger and better than it did ten years ago Now, not all of these are new products, but they are new to me. These are my best skincare discoveries of 2015.

Best Skincare Discoveries of 2015

1. Botox® - What the heck took me so long? I finally started on the Botox® Cosmetic treatment plan this year at age 47. While I probably should have started 10 years ago, I finally broke down and started getting Botox® injections between my eyebrows, right above my brows to take care of forehead lines and in my crow's feet. I get the injections every three months after figuring out what was best for me (apparently my body metabolizes the toxin pretty quick) and I LOVE the result. My wrinkles have pretty much flattened out where I want them to. Botox® DOES NOT HURT. I go to a plastic surgeons office in my town that has many, many years of experience with Botox® injections and the Nurse Practitioner that does my injections does them all day long. She is amazing and well trained. I do not use numbing cream or ice; I just have it injected. I swear to you, it feels like nothing more than a toothpick prick multiple times very quickly. I get a slight headache a few hours after being injected (completely normal) and that is even getting less and less each time I have it done. Also, the results are better each time I have it done (very common).  For those that say they cannot afford Botox® Cosmetic, think of it this way; I pay $450 each time I go, and If I divide that over three months, it's about the price of a fancy coffee each day. It is affordable if you make room in the budget and give up things like the fancy coffee (if you want to). It is not for everyone, but it was for me and something I wanted to do for years.

2. NuFACE® - I am in love with this facial toning device that I started using this fall. I started using the NuFACE® Mini everyday and the results were so amazing that I have moved onto the full-size NuFACE Trinity® with targeted toning attachments. I'm telling you, this handheld facial toning device seriously has lifted and toned areas of my face like my cheeks, brows and jowls. It works by using microcurrents, which is basically soft wave technology. Soft wave technology gently stimulates the skin to improve and gently lift it. You can literally see it working after one use! The longer I use it, the better my skin is toned and lifted.

3. Vitamin C - I added this must have ingredient to my skincare routine in a big way this year. My skin had been dull and sallow and Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin as well as lightens and brightens it. I have tried a lot of Vitamin C products and use it in my serums daily. I also try to incorporate into other skincare items like peels and day creams/night creams from time to time. My favorite Vitamin C products include: SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic, Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum and Paula's Choice Resist C15 Super Booster.

Best Vitamin C Serums

4. Hyaluronic Acid - I've been a fan of this ingredient for some time, but I made it a point to add it into my routine in a lot of ways this year. I read labels (if you don't, please do so) and I make sure that my nighttime moisturizer, serum and eye cream have Hyaluronic Acid in them. Hyaluronic Acid is a powerful ingredient that draws in and retains moisture in the skin. It can add in volume where it wasn't. Some of my favorite Hyaluronic Acid products that I use regularly include GLAMGLOW THIRSTYMUD Hydrating Treatment, Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask, Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum, Clinique All About Eyes Rich, L'Oréal Revitalift Daily Volumizing Concentrated Serum and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream for Eyes

Best Hyaluronic Acid Skin Plumping Face Products: These skin care products will help add volume and retain moisture in the skin.

5. Monthly Facials - So, another one of those, "I can't afford that", but yes I think you can! I decided that I really needed to treat myself and my skin to a lot of extra treatment this year, so I started getting monthly facials. I knew it could benefit from the peels and extra pampering. It's a lot more affordable than you think too as I get monthly facials at Massage Envy. They offer amazing facials and they use Murad products. I adore my esthetician who customized a treatment plan for me which includes a pretty deep peel. This peel has really helped to turnover my skin. And at just $69.99/month when you sign up for a year and pay $59.99 month + $10 for the facial, it's the most affordable facial I've ever had. No, I'm not being paid to say any of this — I just really believe in the affordable service that is seriously changing my skin for the better.

Have you made any new skincare discoveries this year?
