Clinique is adding to their Chubby Stick franchise with a foundation and I was excited to give it a try! I mean, what's better than a portable foundation stick that can travel easily? I took the new Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick with me on my recent Florida vacation and I was seriously impressed.

Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick was built to be portable and provide on-the-go touch-ups, but honestly, it' so long-wearing that touch-ups are not needed with this. It's not what you'd expect out of a cream stick foundation. What is really great about this, is that it's super buildable — you can build up your coverage from sheer to medium depending on how much you apply. It's really moisturizing but leaves a soft, sheer, natural finish giving me a no-makeup, makeup look.

Chubby in the Nude is made up of a superior blend of gels and waxes that provides the long wear and keeps color true all day long. It even lasted on me through all of the Florida heat and humidity.

There are 10 shades in all, and what I really like about this is that I used 'Bountiful Beige all over as foundation but also have 'Intense Ivory (a much lighter shade) and used that as highlighter. It's super easy to just draw it on across the tops of the cheeks, down the center of the nose and blend out to give skin the perfect highlight with the lighter shade.

The Ultra Foundation left a beautiful, flawless airbrush look to my skin. It did not settle into my lines or wrinkles. It seriously minimized the appearance of pores as it just made my skin look flawless and even. It blended evenly and left a healthy, radiant look to my skin. It was somewhat dewy and very natural. It is the look that I could never achieve with regular foundation alone, but the look that I was always hoping for. I was super impressed at how long my makeup lasted too — this is very long wearing. I found Luminess Air very easy to use and I honestly did a pretty good job on my first try, but perfected my flawless look on my second time using the system. It's that simple to use! I was careful to practice first and watched the online application tutorial a few times.

To use, add some of the Ultra Foundation into the reservoir. I found that about 12 drops works perfectly for medium coverage. Press the "on" button on the compressor then start applying the foundation by holding the stylus as you do a pencil. Be sure to hold the stylus about 6 inches away from your face, pull the little trigger about 1/4 of the way back and start moving the stylus in medium circular motions around the face. I like to start in the center of my face and work outward. I do one layer all over my face then let it dry for about a minute, then go back in and add a bit more where I need more coverage on my cheeks where I have a bit of rosacea.

After using Luminess Air for a few weeks, I did learn a few tips and tricks that I think are important to share.

Quick tips to using Luminess Air

• Practice first
• Use a headband to protect the hair from over-spraying
• Hold the stylus about 6 inches from the face
• Use about 12 drops of foundation for medium coverage
• Apply in light layers for more coverage
• Keep the stylus moving and apply in a medium circular motion

I think that the photos below speak volumes as to how well the Luminess Air Airbrush System works. As you can see in the first photo below, my Intern Caylie has some acne and some acne scarring. When she saw me using Luminess Air and how flawless my skin looked after I used it, she asked if she could try the system to cover her acne and scarring; the results are phenomenal.

The final photo is of Caylie using Luminess Air Ultra Airbrush Foundation in Shade 3, Airbrush Blush in Soft Rose and Brightening Glow where you would apply highlighter. She also applied some mascara and lipstick — that is it.

L'Oréal Paris has recently launched one of the first to mass cushion foundations and this is one that you need to take note of. Not only is this foundation a first of its kind for the brand, it's simply a really great foundation. L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is a buildable liquid foundation, packaged in a way that it is portable, that leaves skin in such a way that it looks sheer, yet luminescent on the skin.

Can you tell that I am really impressed by this one? Well, I am. L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation is pretty mistake-proof from the start, like all cushion foundations are. With the packaging of the liquid embedded into the micro-aerated cushion, the formula is always fresh, allowing you to apply just the right amount of foundation you need.

It's so easy to apply by simply tapping the top of the cushion with the enclosed super soft, non-absorbent, anti-microbial puff. I tried other ways to apply, and honestly, the sponges (or specially designed puffs as they call it) that come with these cushion foundations, really are the best way to apply. After you get just a bit of the foundation onto the puff, blend it out over your skin until you have your desired coverage. If you need more coverage, tap and blend on more. Right out of the compact, the coverage is sheer — like your skin just better — but I use a bit more to hide some redness that I have. It does blur away imperfections and make skin look pretty flawless even without a ton of coverage. The end result is a slight glow or the look of luminescence; a real fresh look to the skin.

There are 12 True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation shades that are broken up into warm, cool and neutral undertones that will blend to match a good variety of skintones. I thinking finding your perfect match may be a little tricky, but start with your undertone then look from there.

I was sent three shades to try and they were either too light or too dark, but I did blend two of them to give it a try for the day.
