Getting Smart with Skincare and Clinique.

One thing I am very particular with is my skincare products. With thousands of skincare products available, I just have to be smart about my choices. One brand that is super smart about their skincare is Clinique and they have designed an entire SMART franchise that is full of multitasking products. These are no ordinary multitasking products either; the products in the SMART line up all can do at least four things at once to the skin.

I told you about Clinique's Smart Custom Repair Serum when it launched about 18 months ago and that is how this line all began. Now there are four more products in the line-up that are equally smart.

I decided that the smartest solutions for my skin were the Smart Treatment Oil and Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer. No matter how much I have been moisturizing, my skin is just so extra dry.

I have been incorporating oils into my skin care routine when I can and Clinique Smart Treatment Oil ($44) was a great choice.  This oil nourishes, builds up hydration, smooths, plumps and de-ages as it protects against daily aggressors. It's a really lightweight oil that is chock full of anti-aging ingredients that help to deeply condition dry and damaged skin. It is a non-greasy oil that leaves my skin instantly radiant and feeling smooth. Vitamins C, E and Cranberry Seed Oil (powerful antioxidants) work over time to help shield against harmful free radical damage. I use this oil in addition to my daytime moisturizer by adding in two to three drops. At night, I warm up a few drops and gently pat it into my skin right after cleansing.

Also at night, I have been using Clinique Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer ($57). This multi-tasking oil-free cream instantly plumps and hydrates my skin and works overnight while my skin is in its resting night. It is filled with hard working ingredients like Glucosamine, Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid Fragments to bind that moisture in and retain it in the skin. I wake looking more fresh. It says that overtime, skin will be more firm, lifted and toned. I honestly haven't used it long enough, but it does smooth and plump my skin better than my average night creams.

COVERGIRL Must-Haves for a Flawless Winter Look.

If you've been to your favorite drugstore and browsed the beauty aisles, you've probably noticed all the new beauty launches from COVERGIRL; there are quite a few of them. You know I am a big fan of COVERGIRL, so I was super excited to see so many new makeup options and could not wait to try them and share them all with you. From a brand new mascara that delivers the most voluminous lashes to a vitamin-infused lip balm that drenches lips in moisture and color, there is a lot to like here.

First up is a newly updated makeup primer and there is so much to love about this one for anyone over 30. COVERGIRL + Olay SIMPLY AGELESS Anti-Aging Foundation Primer uses the brands technology that hydrates, plumps and fills in fine lines and wrinkles as it preps the skin for foundation and the rest of your makeup. It contains anti-aging ingredients from Olay, so you are fighting the signs of aging as you use it too — bonus. Skin is left soft and smooth, like a perfect canvas for applying makeup. It works really well with both the COVERGIRL + OLAY SIMPLY AGELESS 3-in-1 Liquid Foundation and COVERGIRL + Olay SIMPLY AGELESS Instant Wrinkle Defying Foundation which also got updates for this launch.

There are two new baked products, and if you've used baked makeup products before, you know why I was so excited about these. truBLEND Blush and truBLEND Bronzer are both marble baked formulas that blend effortless and instantly over the skin.

The blend of shades create the perfect glow not matter which shade of blush you choose and the bronzer is pretty perfect (I love using it alone to warm up my skin this winter). There are three shades of truBLEND Blush to choose from, so no one misses out: Light Rose, Medium Rose and Deep Mauve.

I've already professed my love for the COVERGIRL TruNaked Eyeshadow Palette but I will tell you about it, because it is really nice! I have the Nudes palette and it is if it were made for me. This palette has 8 silky, pigmented shadows that range from satin to shimmer in ivory and cream to deep, smoky brown shades. This palette is unexpected from COVERGIRL — they really brought it with this one. It is extremely versatile and can create an endless amount of eye looks. The mascara you want to know about it is COVERGIRL Plumpify blast PRO Mascara. This is the brands latest mascara launch and it's a game changer! With a really odd mascara brush that works, (it is actually two mascara brushes twisted together) the brush helps to plump up the volume and lift lashes to the extreme. The brand claims up to 50X the volume and I can't say if it actually does just that, but it does give my lashes a ton of volume without weighing them down. I like that it does so while giving lashes separation and length too. I also love the little short ball tip that I can wiggle into the hard to reach places.

Finally, the vitamin-infused lip balms that I am loving this winter, COVERGIRL Colorlicious Oh Sugar! This is like a really indulgent lip treatment and another really unexpected product! Oh Sugar! lip balm is made with ultra-rich ingredients (very prestige feeling) and contains things like grapeseed oil, avocado butter and Vitamins C & E. Lips feel completely hydrated and nourished as it also leaves lips with a hint of tint. There are ten shades available: Cupcake; Candy; Caramel; Taffy; Spice; Punch; Soda; Sprinkle; Jelly; Gumdrop.
