I am a big fan of IT Cosmetics and the brands innovative products; I also use a few products from Drybar. When I heard that both brands were teaming up together, I could not wait to see what they had in the making.
Turns out, IT Cosmetics and Drybar have teamed up to create the new Lash Blow Out Volumizing Mascara and as soon as I saw an early preview of the mascara on QVC and how it looked like a Drybar barrel hair brush, I was intrigued.
Lash Blow Out Mascara is designed to give lashes a “blow out” by delivering bold and voluminous lashes all day long. The formula is hair-loving, in fact, and all-in-all, it’s very unique.
First thing is first, let’s talk about the design. It looks just like a Drybar barrel hair brush. It had me confused as to how to open AND hold, because wow, it’s big. But the wand is actually housed in the opposite, or smaller end, with the formula enclosed in the larger barrel shape.
Inside is the magic and that is where the IT Cosmetics and Drybar collaboration comes into play.
Lash Blowout Mascara features a specifically designed microsphere brush, and this is based on the Drybar barrel brush, too. This mascara brush wand gently catches all of your lashes for effortless root-to-tip application. It does SUCH a phenomenal job at doing so and lying down the formula.
The formula itself is unique, too. It is infused with biotin, vitamin E, collagen, jojoba oil and palm oil which makes it hair-loving. It sounds like one of my favorite hair conditioners.
The formula does help to condition lashes as it coats lashes with saturated black pigment from root to tip. It really helps to form and hold a curl — like hairspray. I feel that one coat gives great definition and volume; two coats further builds upon the lashes. Any more than two coats and lashes can get clumpy, but you don’t need more than one or two coats of Lash Blowout Mascara.
I did not experience any flaking whatsoever and this mascara did not smudge on me, either. My lashes held in place and really had a ton of volume and curl, with nice definition. After recently removing my extensions and dealing with short stubby lashes, it was nice to have a mascara that defines, holds and gives me the volume that I crave.
