I like my lashes long, I like them thick and I like them black. I have been having a really hard time getting my lashes to just show up since removing my lash extensions a few weeks ago (long story). While I have been depending on false eyelashes most of the time, I have been testing a slew of mascaras to see which ones can make my puny lashes stand out and one that is working well for me is Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara.
You see, I have worn lash extensions for over two years. (Read everything you need to know about lash extensions here) When I removed my lash extensions, I did not really mean to. I was in bed sick for a few days and my eyes hurt. I rubbed my eyes a lot in which most of my extensions came off, including a lot of my own lashes.
The lashes that I do have left are very short, stubby, thin and blonde. While I take the time and test a slew of lash boost products, I need to find the right combination of mascaras that give me some sort of lash look to open up my eyes. Isn't that the goal of a great mascara in the first place?
It seems that I really like the hourglass-shaped mascara wands like MJB Velvet Noir happens to use. I've been a longtime fan of Too Faced Better Than Sex, the newer L'Oreal Lash Paradise, BUXOM Lash Mascara and Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara which all have hourglass-shaped wands. I do think that the Velvet Noir formula is the deepest darkest black pigmented formula that packs a punch on these stubs.
Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara uses a super-concentrated black pigment to give lashes obvious impact. Plus the formula includes a proprietary Flash Volume Complex™ to help create smudge-proof length and volume in one coat.
I apply two to three coats and don't experience any clumps, flakes or smudging. Velvet Noir gives me truly thick lashes in one sweep.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara can be purchased for $26 at Sephora.
I'm so fancy that I have a special tube with my name on it, thanks to my friends at MJB.
