The Ultimate Sequel: Urban Decay NAKED2 Basics.

I use Urban Decay's NAKED Basics Palette often. I use it so often that I had buy a second one and it hasn't been out for two years yet. Coming from someone who tests a lot of makeup says a lot! The NAKED Basics Palette is such a great basic palette with rich matte, natural shades that look great on everyone. Now the brand has kicked it up a bit and taken the matte neutrals to the next level with NAKED2 Basics and I can't believe it, but I am loving this one even more!

Urban Decay NAKED2 Basics

NAKED2 Basics is filled with six taupe-hued matte neutral shades including five brand new shades + Skimp that has an ever so slight satin finish to it which is great for highlighting. All of the shadows have such a rich buttery feel to them and glide across my lids with ease. They blend effortlessly. When have you been able to do that with matte shadows? The taupe based shades look beautiful on everyone too.

Urban Decay NAKED Basics vs. Urban Decay NAKED2 Basics

The NAKED2 Basics Shades:

Skimp - Pale Nude Satin
Stark - Nude-Pink Matte
Frisk - Warm Gray Matte
Cover - Muted Red Red-Brown Matte
Primal - Muted Brown Matte
Undone - Deep, Smoky Brown Matte

My new go to everyday look is simple using NAKED2 Basics. To get the look I have been using Skimp on the brow bone, Stark on the lid, Frisk in the crease and just a smudge of Primal in the very outer corner blended in. The look is an everyday neutral with a hint of sass. It can be played up with a bit of blending in more of Primal or adding in Undone in the crease. Undone is also great to use as a liner.

To coincide with the launch of this new palette, Urban Decay also launched the perfect go-to everyday shadow brush in the new Naked Basics Double-Ended Brush ($20.00). The double ended brush contains a shadow blender brush that is great for all over color and blending and a shadow smudger. I am a sucker for a good smudge brush and this one is good - really good. It is stiff with a bit of give so it is great of blending into the crease and also good for getting shadow close to the lash line for lining with powder, which I do often too.

When not lining with powder, and especially when completing my Naked Basics look, I have been using the Naked Basics 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($16.00). This Double Ended Eyeliner in Venus and Crave makes for a perfect highlighting eye pencil on one end with a deep dark brown-black on the other for lining.
