My Visit with Three Custom Color Specialists.

First stop on my visit to New York City, Three Custom Color Specialists, otherwise known as 3C. 3C is a unique line developed by three New Yorkers with a passion for makeup, art, and custom blending.

This is a stop for many makeup artists big and small. Products are custom blended right on site and ready in such short lead times, that makeup artists flock to the studio right before and during Fashion Week.

Makeup Artist bags are sure to have one of their Professional Concealer Palettes inside, while regular gals like me love the Concealer Trio in either light-medium or medium-dark. Another favorite product among both artists and regular folk is their Clarifier Eye Pencil. Available in either light or dark, this eye pencil is used to use on the lower inner rim of your eye, to open up your eye area. This handy pencil is a cinch to use and makes eyes look not only bigger, they appear whiter and more overall fresh. This is a must-have product that I have not stopped using since I picked it up at the studio.

3C offers a great service where you bring in your makeup bag, empty it out, and your bag is given a total make over. This will not only help you narrow down the product that you need to use on a regular basis, it helps you to simplify your makeup routine - something I think we all need. To book this service and hear about other services their offer, give them a call at 888.262.7714 or visit their site to learn more. Please note that studio visits are by appointment only, making it a true customized and personal experience.

Spring Trend: The Lilac Eye.

A bit away from the runways, all of the makeup artists were all about the Lilac Eye for Spring. I am not even going to go back to see if this is what came out of the Spring shows last season.  Leo at Lancome, Chad at Three Custom Color Specialists, and Raymond at Trish McEvoy, they were all about the soft Lilac shades on the eye.

Christina and Raymond Nieves, Regional Artist for Trish McEvoy

Raymond from Trish used Lavender and Pink Tangerine Eye Shadow's placed over the Shimmer Shadow Base in Gold on Christina. The look was lovely. While I usually cannot wear Lilac on my eye as it immediately turns too blue and purple on me, Raymond said that by layering it over the Gold, it will neutralize itself making it wearable on someone with my pinkish skin tone.
