Get the Look: Rashida Jones at the 2011 Emmy Awards.

Rashida Jones stepped onto the red carpet at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards this afternoon wearing Maybelline New York. Her red carpet look was created with the help of Makeup Artist Jo Strettell for Maybelline New York.

Jo was inspired by Rashida’s vivacious personality and created a look using Maybelline New York’s latest products. To complement her dusty pink dress, Jo kept Rashida’s makeup classic and pretty. A dramatic eye and vibrant lip added unexpected edge and modernized the look.
For Face:
To even complexion and create a natural base, Jo prepped Rashida’s skin with Maybelline New York Fit Me! Foundation in Honey Beige. On the apples of cheeks, she used Maybelline New York Fit Me! Blush in Medium Mauve, a dusty pink blush to complement the rosy color of Rashida’s gown. Next, Jo contoured and highlighted with a shimmery powder.
For Eyes:
Jo used Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black to create a glamorous eye look. She dotted the liner between areas of Rashida’s top and bottom lashes.  Next, to create the illusions of denser lashes, she ran the liner along the top and bottom lashlines. To set the gel liner and line the entire inner rim of the eye, Jo used Maybelline New York Eye Studio Master Drama Cream Pencil in Coal Commander. She then applied a shimmery cream shadow to the inner corners of the eyes and as a highlight over the brow bone. She finished the dramatic eye look with several coats of Maybelline New York The Falsies by Volum’ Express Mascara in Blackest Black.
For Lips:
Jo added rich color and glamorous shine to the lips with Maybelline New York Color Sensational High Shine Lipcolor in Dazzling Plum – the perfect product to achieve Rashida’s deep vixen pout!

Get the Look: Julianna Margulies at 2011 Emmy Awards.

Emmy winner Julianna Margulies had her hair styled by hair stylist Matthew Monzon’s using Leonor Greyl
for the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. Her makeup was done by no other than L’Oréal Paris, for which Julianna is a spokesperson.

The products used to create her beautiful look:

L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Professional Magic Smooth Soufflé

L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Professional The One Sweep Sculpting Blush in Poppy

L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Carbon Black

L’Oréal Paris Infallible Le Rouge in Opulent Organza

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Clinical Repair 10 Laser Corrector Day Treatment

L’Oréal Paris Féria Midnight Collection in shade M33, Natural Soft Black

All of these poducts can be found at and chain drug, food and mass market retailers nationwide.

Now, for the hair how-to: “For Julianna Margulies’ Emmys look, I wanted to mirror the glamour of her gorgeous Armani prive gown with an old Hollywood, Veronica Lake-inspired style. However, I still wanted Julianna to look modern, so I kept the style somewhat deconstructed.

I started with damp hair and worked Leonor Greyl’s Lait Luminescence Bi-Phase Detangling Milk through her hair, applying the product only from the mid-shaft down through the ends so as not to over-saturate it.

To create volume, I combed Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice through the hair with a wide-tooth comb and blow-dried it using a two-inch round brush. I made a deep side part on the left and then set the top portion of her hair in Velcro rollers for a little bit of extra oomph.

Then, I started to work on the back:

·         Making sure to spray Leonor Greyl Voluforme Styling Spray for Volume and Hold to each section before curling, I used a 1½ inch curling iron to barrel-curl the bottommost layer of Julianna’s hair in a uniform direction
·         I created another layer on top of that one, barrel-curling the sections but this time changing the direction of the curl from that of the first layer

I continued this pattern for remaining portion of the back of Julianna’s hair by creating layer on top of layer, maintaining the direction of the curl within one layer and switching to the opposite direction for the next. Alternating the direction of the curl between layers allowed the hair to fall into the wave that I was hoping to achieve.

After completing the back of Julianna’s hair, I removed the top half from the Velcro rollers and brushed through with a boar bristle brush, creating a soft wave with my fingers.

To complete the look, I finished with a spray of Leonor Greyl’s Laque Souple Light Styling Spray for hold.”
