La Mer Introduces The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid.

La Mer recently introduced the latest in their miracle skin treatment line up. This creation is one that I am longing to use.

You see, I know how important a daily SPF is. Most of the foundations in my makeup rotation contain an SPF, but most of the daytime moisturizers that I use do not. Most of them irritate my skin. I have been on the lookout for a broad spectrum sunscreen that I can use both on it's own and under foundation. The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid sounds like it would work for me. Especially as I consistently turn to Creme de La Mer to use whenever my skin is "freaking out", which it seems to be just too much lately, evidenced by the fact that my coveted jar is almost empty.

The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid is a fantastic daily use product as it combines SPF protection with skin treatment benefits. This fluid is both lightweight and fast absorbing,as it uses gemstones to enhance the formula’s anti-oxidant activity. Hollow Photonic Spheres are also included in the formulation to create a flattering light effect (which will help to create a more flawless finish under foundation)and a new Smart Seaweed Ferment also helps protect skin against pH, temperature and humidity changes.

The SPF 30 UV Protecting Fluid sells for $65 and is available now at select Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, as well as online at

P.S. If you haven't visited LaMer online recently (or ever), you need to visit the site to read on more about all of the science that is used to create the revolutionary cult beauty products. La Mer Goes Pink for BCA.

This October, La Mer supports The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in their battle to beat breast cancer.

In order to aid research and increase awareness, La Mer will make a donation of $30,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation in connection with the North American sales of Crème de la Mer. A special pink box has been created especially for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Look at how gorgeous this special pink box is.

Inside the formula is nothing short of special too. I know I have talked about my love for La Mer in the past, especially over on Aging Fabulous, but I am not sure if I have ever given you the background of this "miracle" cream. You see, many years ago, Dr. Max Huber, an aerospace physicist, suffered a horrific accident—a routine accident exploded in his face—covering him with burns. Dissatisfied with his scarred appearance, Huber decided to help himself. Twelve years and 6,000 experiments later, he perfected Crème de la Mer, the crème that would help give skin a dramatically smoother appearance. If it works for scars, imaging what it does for fine lines and wrinkles.

Crème de la Mer is available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and select specialty stores. Also  at The prices are  $130 for 1oz., $230 for 2oz., and $1390 for 16.5oz..

The Ultimate in Luxury!

Synonymous with skin care miracles and ultimate luxury, the legendary Crème de la Mer has inspired a devoted following. And BCA Month has inspired them to create a special pink box.

bca_lamer.jpgIf you don't know too much about Crème de la Mer, it is a very "special" creation from NASA scientist Dr. Max Huber. It is coined the "Miracle Broth"  and has a devoted cult-like following. The price? 1 oz. $110 (not available in BCA packaging), 2 oz. $195, or the ultimate in luxury 16.5 oz. for $1200.
A few years ago, I was lucky enough to have a special batch made up just for moi. Now, this was when there was only Crème de la Mer, no other special treatment products that are currently in the line.  It was a small sample, but just enough for a few weeks to try it out.  I remember it being too rich for my entire face, but I really liked it around my eye area.

Being older (and much drier - skin wise) with a few lines around my eyes, I wonder how I would feel about it now. I must admit that I am intrigued by the eye balm, and may just have to see if there are samples available.

All in all, I think that if you were ever in the market for Crème de la Mer, now is the time to purchase where a bit of the money will do some good. La Mer will donate $25,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
