I haven't used an eyeliner pencil for years. Most of the time I just smudge a dark shadow on my lash line for liner and call it a day; it works for me. I haven't particularly been on the hunt for a new eyeliner, but when about five or six people randomly either asked my opinion or tell me how much they love Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner, I knew I needed to try it.
I ordered two brown shades— (Earth)quake and Ro(cocoa) and they were delivered last week. I just had to try these liners as soon as I received them because I was curious to see what the buzz was all about.
As soon as I started to glide (Earth)quake on my upper lash line, I knew why people were raving about these liners. The formula glides on like silk — like buttery silk — but doesn't move. I can smudge the line a bit (you have about 30 seconds of play time) but the gel formula is fluid enough to simply glide onto the lid so gracefully. Once the liner is on, it does not give or move, smudge or smear. And once the liner does set, it stays in place until you remove it. I have been removing it with this.
My eye palette of choice lately, is the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Glambition. Not only do I love the mix of fall shades in this palette (there are seven shades in it), I love that there is a mix of finishes in it. Each Eye-Conic Eyeshadow Palette has four finishes in it: Velvet, Satin, Silk and Lamé.
I guess I now know what the buzz was about and I can honestly say that I have missed using eyeliner. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner is pretty perfect; this eyeliner will be a staple in my makeup bag. I will be ordering many more shades.
