Okay, okay, so I am getting pretty lofty with my goals for the new year. I am GOING to stick to my new nightly skincare routine and wear sunscreen every day. But this one just might be the most difficult one for me. I am going to wear more color. And I am not just talking makeup.
I wear mostly neutral makeup, especially lipstick. And nail polish. I also prefer a neutral color palette when it comes to my clothes. BORING. This is the year that I will start to wear more color. I am going to start with MAC's Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Metallics because my oh my they are full-on gorgeous!
In case you have never tried MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor, these are some of the most fully-saturated, liquid-suede lip colours. But what is different about these is that they are now available in an updated metalized formula that is unlike any other. Plus, MAC has given us, even more, shades — there are three new shades for a total of fifteen in all.
These metallics are different; they are soft metallics without that full, frosted like metallic look. These are suede-like and softer metallics with full-on color pigments that really comes through. The formula is super long-lasting, too.
The color line-up:
Softly Rockin - Soft Pinky Beige
Pearl Punk - Dusty Pink
Metrochrome - Gold Bronze
Foiled - Rose Bronze
Coral Plated - Orange
Crowned - Blacked Purple
Buzzed Out - Fushsia Pink
In Retrograde - Yellow Red
Love Weapon - Deep Blue Red
Atomized - Violet
Moon Landing - Blue
Silver Spoon - Gunmetal
Quartzette - Beige
Gems & Roses - Bronze Rose
Metallic Rose - Rose Gold
I'm normally drawn to shades like Softly Rockin' (I really do love this color) and Pearl Punk but as my goal is to try more color, I am really going to try more shades like Buzzed Out, Metallic Rose, Gemz & Roses and Foiled.
I have already broken out of my comfort zone and I am wearing Metallic Rose this early morning on my flight out to Florida to coordinate with my long pink duster cardigan that I am wearing over my black tank and yoga pants. You'd normally find me in a black duster, but I bought a bright pink one. Color goals = check and check!
