Lighten Up with St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion.

It's bad enough that we have to dress in heavy layers in the cold winter months. The last thing I want to put on my skin is anything heavy right now though I do need heavy body creams to soothe and moisturize my parched skin. Luckily St. Ives just took the heavy out of lotions with their new Fresh Hydration Lotion.

The new St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion is a continuous spray lotion that effectively moisturizes the skin, yet it feels super light on the skin. The super cool 360 degree spray makes spraying at every angle easy, so getting every nook and cranny (like behind the knees and the back) a cinch. I love that I can get every part of my body moisturized so my entire body is left soft and smooth, yet I don't feel like I am wearing any cream at all.

St. Ives Fresh Hydration Lotion comes in three varieties for various skin types:

St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal & Shea Butter Fresh Hydration Lotion

Formulated with oatmeal & shea butter to soothe dry skin. It is scented with notes of white floral, honey, almond and coconut.

St. Ives Naturally Indulgent Coconut Milk & Orchid Extract Fresh Hydration Lotion

Contains coconut milk and orchid extract to leave skin silky and smooth as it indulges the senses with a light and luxurious fragrance.

St. Ives Energizing Citrus & Vitamin C Fresh Hydration Lotion

Post-Summer Skin Healing with St. Ives Naturally Smooth.

I don't know about you, but all the summer fun I had wrecked havoc on my skin. From sun exposure to the dehydrating effects of salt water, chlorine and air conditioning, a host of warm weather hazards has left my skin overly dry and somewhat sensitive. Without proper care, I am sure the damage done to my skin over these last few months could linger well through fall, so I looked for a body lotion to help my skin. I choose this newbie from St. Ives.

St. Ives Naturally Smooth Body Lotion ($4.97) is a new one from the brand that is a super-hydrating and gently-exfoliating lotion. After a few days of use, my skin felt and looked better. The super-hydrating and gently-exfoliating lotion instantly restored vital moisture and improved the appearance of my parched skin, eliminating all pesky rough patches and dullness.

Formulated with a natural, fruit-derived AHA complex, the dual-action, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly to provide intense hydration while a multi-fruit blend with alpha hydroxies gently exfoliates skin by promoting cell turnover.  Perfect for all skin types, Naturally Smooth Body Lotion works to improve texture, revealing fresher, smoother and younger looking skin – naturally.

The lotion itself is very lightweight feeling and it absorbs so quickly that I can get dressed immediately after applying. I hate the lingering feel of lotions where my clothes drag when I get dressed, so St. Ives gets a huge A+ from me in the absorbing department.  The lotion is scented, but it is a light scent, I would say it is somewhat citrus, somewhat floral - all very fresh. The scent fades pretty quickly too, so it will not be in the way of your fragrance.

Because this lotion contains AHA's, be careful when using on broken skin. I have a small razor burn patch on my leg and it did sting for a second. It was not bad at all, but I wanted to point out that you need to be cautious. Being careful with application is a must with any exfoliating type of product, especially those with effective fruit acids such as this.

Look for this and other St. Ives products at drugstores and mass retailers now.
