This week I got to try a fabulous mascara, one that I am sure you have been reading a lot about. The mascara of which I am speaking is Prescriptives Here to Stay 24-Hour Longwear Mascara.
This has got to be the most gentle, long-lasting mascara I have ever tried. Usually the longer-the-lasting the mascara is, the more stiff and brittle my lashes feel. Not with this formula. It truly is unique and a must-have if you are looking for an all-day, all-night waterproof mascara.
The brush is more of brush/comb, and it is made out of a very flexible plastic. The formula glides on and dries in a few seconds. If you like multiple coats, you need to do them quickly, as adding coat after coat when the formula is dry does not apply so well. It tugs a bit, so you need to work your lashes a bit faster than normal. But in the end, it is so worth it.
For the ultimate mascara experiment, I wore Here to Stay all day, through a rough day, that even included taking a dip in the pool (still over 80 degrees in Masscahusetts in October - go figure), and was careful not to remove it when taking off my makeup that night. To my amazement, the mascara was still in perfect place when I woke up.
Here to Stay comes in both brown and black and retails for $19.50.

Oh wow! It's very unheard of that a mascara would stay on for a dip in the pool AND after a good night's sleep! This is definitely one that I want to try :)
I'm just curious, will 24-hour wear of mascara cause any damage to our lashes?
I don't think so. The ingredients do not seem out of the ordinary and I know that Prescriptives put a lot of testing into the mascara. I would just use common sense caution and wash it off carefully with an eye makeup remover at the end of the day.
