Defy Your Age Beauty Award Winners and a Chance to Win Them Yourself!

Prevention magazine put the leading anti-aging beauty products to the test again this year and found seven products deserving of the “Defy Your Age” seal, including Olay ProX Age Repair Lotion, Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Age Shield Hand Cream and Estée Lauder Idealist Dual-Action Refinishing Treatment.

To determine the winners, Prevention enlisted seven leading dermatologists to test the claims of the 35 most promising products of the year on a group of 175 women, ages 40-plus, for a period of up to eight weeks. The doctors then employed state-of-the-art equipment to measure which products best delivered on their claims using before and after skin analysis. The teams investigated seven categories of products including hand, eye and night creams; lip, adult acne and microdermabrasion treatments; and day lotions with SPF. This year’s winners are all available for less than $50.

Unlike teenagers’ treatments, this trio of products—a scrub, a toner, and an oil-free lotion—contains humectants that soften and smooth. ($34; avon.com)

• Hand Cream: Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Age Shield Hand Cream SPF 30

This cream smoothes fine lines and keeps hands soft with heavy-duty humectants and emollients; potent UV protection helps stave off future damage. ($6; drugstores)

• Eye Cream: Skin Effects by Dr. Jeffrey Dover Cell 2 Cell Anti-Aging Eye Treatment

Made with hyaluronic acid, peptides and dermaxyl (a nonirritating synthetic retinoid), this cream decreases wrinkles, brown spots, and under eye darkness. ($15; CVS pharmacy)

I am concerned about my hands. I haven't found a hand cream that I like and will consistently use! I have fine lines and some age spots and I'm only 22! I'm afraid my hands will look like I'm 80 when I turn 30. It would definitely be a treat to be able to try all these brands, especially if they were tested by dermatologists!

I am worried about the lines running from my nose to the corners of my mouth. They are fairly deepset in my mother's face and I worry I will develop them as well since we have similar bone structure.

My biggest concern would have to be the negative effect of the sun exposure on my skin. From age 18 to 21 I have used tanning bed every summer. I really wanted to look tan and gorgeous, and unfortunately I did not wear sunscreen to tan. Now I am 25 and I am noticing quite a few wrinkles on my face. I wish I could take those years back and use SPF or forgo tanning beds completely. I try to use SPF as much as I can now, and I hope all other people do too- for the sake of beautiful youthful wrinkle-free skin! I would love to try Olay products, especially the ones with SPF in it!

Taking care of you skin is so important at any age. I'm concerned about it all. Good skin makes you look and feel beautiful inside and out. I've got to say I use the Neutrogena Hand Cream and can't live without it, it soothes my dry chapped hands, its a wonderful product. Can't wait to try some of the other products.
