Fall 2012: Maybelline Scene on the Runway Color Tattoo Shadows.
In case you haven't heard, it is currently Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City. Maybelline New York is the official sponsor of the show. Have you seen any of the Maybelline end caps at the drugstore? They feature some great limited edition Scene on the Runway fall products. They are certainly eye catching. As I have read so much about the Color Tattoo Shadows and never having tried them, I knew I had to try these and now. The colors are gorgeous! Of course, I had to have all four shades.
The shades:
Barely Beige
Gold Shimmer
Mossy Green
Rich Mahogany

I like the formula and how pigmented the shadows are. You only need a small amount of product for the color pay-off I demand. To get the ultimate wear, make sure to use an eyeshadow primer.
In addition to the new shadows, Maybelline launched the perfect brush for applying the cream gel shadows.

It is a dense, stiff, flat brush that helps apply the shadows with ease. I dab the color on the lid with this new brush, then blend with a fluffier brush after the formula has set for a few seconds. To clean the brush in between colors, just swipe it on a tissue.
Look for the special displays at your favorite drugstores now. I had a hard time finding all four colors in stock at one location. I actually purchased one at CVS, one at Rite Aid, and two at Walgreens. I didn't find any of the special displays with the new fall products in either Target that I checked. I paid $6.99 for each shadow at Walgreens and Rite Aid, and $7.39 each at CVS. I did score $3.00 in CVS Extra Bucks for a $10 Maybelline purchase at CVS too, because of course I purchased a few more goodies.

Yes, you can use your fingers to apply these and I know many people are great using their fingers for applying makeup, but I am not one of them. I am definitely a brush girl.
I agree at how ridiculous it is to find these. I know they are a very popular product and the colors are gorgeous. But I did notice that most displays held 3 or four of each color at the most. I have no idea if they even get back stock.
One employee at CVS said color like this are sent as testers and they only get a few because the brand wants to see how they sell. I know that's not true, they are seasonal, limited edition. Anyway, it is frustrating.
The largest display I found was at Rite Aid, and the container displaying them had room for many of the pots, in each color. I do realize though, that it is still not enough.
