Fashion Week S/S 2012: Project Runway.

DateSeptember 13, 2011 | written by AuthorTeri Cosenzi, Editor | Comment4 Comments | Share ArticleShare This

I was honored to be invited to the Project Runway show by L’Oréal Paris, and I had an amazing seat to see the collections. Nine collections were shown and once again, I was in awe. These are new designers, presenting shows for the very first time. I think the show went off without a hitch, and can't wait for the finale, which should air on Lifetime the end of October, to see who wins.

Of course, as I said, nine collections were shown so that those of us watching would not know who actually made the finals.  I glanced over at judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and special guest judge L'Wren Scott to see if they were taking notes - and they were - on all of them. I could not narrow down who the finalists were.

The finalists shown:
Olivier Green
Viktor Luna
Kimberly Goldson
Anya Ayoung Chee
Joshua McKinley
Bryce Black
Bert Keeter
Anthony Ryan
Laura Kathleen

If I had to choose the finalists, I would pick Anya Ayoung Chee, Laura Kathleen and Bert Keeter. I really liked what I saw from them.

As far as the beauty looks, Collier Strong, consulting celebrity makeup artist for the brand, created the them for the show. Almost all of them were very wearable. I saw pops of color on the lips, nude cheeks and natural eyes, with strong brows. Some of the collections featured a heavier eye makeup look, but most did not and kept is easy and natural for Spring. In collaboration with Project Runway, L’Oréal Paris is launching a makeup collection, with products used at the show. These beauties will be hitting the shelves any day now, and as soon as I have all of the product information, I will be sure to get it to you.

The hair was mostly natural in messy, low ponytails, easy up-dos and side braids. All very simple, wearable and easy to do at home.

Thank you to L’Oréal Paris for inviting me. It was the highlight of my Fashion Week.

I just started watching this show this season. I had seen a few episodes here and there for a couple of years.

I much prefer the creative process to the soap opera aspects; but with Joshua, the soap will wash over all.

And what is with all the obsession over the short, short skirts? We are in a recession! Bring those hemlines down!

How lucky that you got to see the show. I am so jealous. I can't wait to see who wins. I love Laura and have since the very beginning. I like the makeup looks too. Not over the top and I agree about the hair too. Easy to do at home. Until the finale airs....

I agree with the earlier comment about the short hemlines. Enough of the super short, short skirts already.

The show was awesome, guys. I was in awe, especially as they are new to shows like this. You could not tell the difference between a seasoned designer and most of the contestants.
