Happy May! Can you believe that May is here already? I can't believe that four months of the year have passed and that at the end of the month the official kick-off to summer will be here. With that, I really need to start talking more about summer makeup. And bronzers. I love bronzers in the summer. I use bronzer year round to warm up my skin and contour a bit, but I break out different shades of bronzer and brush it on in the summer. Guerlain pays homage to Terracotta, their bronzing powder, which is at the heart of their limited edition Guerlain Summer 2015 Makeup Collection. Along with must-have shades of Le Vernis Nail Lacquer, Rouge Automatique lipsticks and Waterproof Summer Shadow lustrous liquid shadows, this is a collection not to be missed.
The Guerlain Summer 2015 Makeup Collection includes:
Guerlain My Terracotta Bronzing Powder (with Sleeve) - $55.00
The star of the collection, My Terracotta, transports the feeling of summer to any destination. There are two limited edition shades: Natural Blondes and Natural Brunettes. The Natural Blondes shade is a bit darker and more red and Natural Brunettes is a little lighter and more golden. I can get away with using both, though I really wouldn't use Natural Blondes until later in the summer when I am self-tanning more. Go figure - I have blonde hair. Each bronzer comes with a reusable, silicone sleeve to protect it in your beach bag. There is a really pretty coral one that comes on the Brunettes bronzer and Turquoise one that comes on the Blondes shade. The sleeves are easy to remove for the makeup bag.
If you have never used a Guerlain Bronzing Powder, you do not know what you are missing. This is the ultimate bronzing powder. It is finely milled so it is silky smooth, glides on with ease without ever dragging and only looks very natural. There is a very tiny bit of sparkle to it that leaves a subtle sheen to the skin, but it is the kind of look you want form a bronzer in the summer. It does not accentuate lines or pores which is so important to me. It is a splurge bronzer, but so worth it.
Guerlain Rouge Automatique Hydrating Lasting Lip Color - $37.00
Guerlain delivers pops of color that look great with the bronzer with these two unexpected shades of lipstick.
- Fluo Stiletto - Neon Pink
- Yellow It-Stick - Sheer Golden
I have both shades and Fluo Stiletto is definitely a shocking bright pink that looks great with a tan and makes teeth look nice and white. Yellow It-Stick is unexpected. It can be worn alone or over another shade of lipstick like Fluo Stiletto. It is sheer, so don't let the gold shade shock; it is beautiful. I like to wear it over a brighter shade like Fluo Stiletto to actually soften it up and add a little bit of golden sparkle to it.
Guerlain Summer Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow - $32.00
This waterproof creamy shadow glides on the eyelid super smooth and dries instantly leaving behind the right amount of color. It's more like a wash than a full on eye, so don't let it scare you.
- Blue Ocean - Very light turquoise blue with slight shimmer
- White Sand - Very light creamy white with slight shimmer
Guerlain Le Vernis Nail Lacquer - $26.00
This beautiful nail lacquer was inspired by the mesmerizing mix of crystal blue waves softly making their way up the shore on a clear beach day.
- Blue Ocean - Bright turquoise blue
Blue Ocean is a stunning color and I want to wear it every day this summer. So gorgeous!
