Makeup Wars: Summer Foundation.

My summer makeup routine is very different from the rest of the year. I like to go lighter all over, as in wear less (lighter) makeup, especially when it comes to foundation. I don't require the heavier coverage that I normally do in the winter, nor do I like it when it is hot out. I found that layering two products works best for me.

This summer I am layering Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream and It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation to get the perfect summer coverage and look for me.

Moisture Surge CC Cream glides on over my skin as it protects it with SPF 30, which is obviously super important to have in your complexion perfector for summer. I like to apply the CC Cream with my fingertips. I start at the center of my face and blend out, sort of patting it into my skin. Alone, it offers beautiful, light coverage. It has a lightweight texture that is definitely breathable. After the CC Cream sets into my skin for a few minutes, I take a large fluffy powder brush and swirl it around into the Celebration Foundation. I brush it over my face, concentrating on my forehead, nose and chin, then onto my cheeks to and blend it all in. I don't use a ton of the powder, just enough to set the CC Cream, deepen the color a bit and blend everything together. Together, it lasts all through the day as it makes my skin look like a more perfect kind of natural for summer.

Take a look at what my beauty friends use to perfect their complexion in the summer.

I use the Celebration Foundation daily too, such a fabulous product! I will have to check out the Clinique!
I love Clinique products but have not tried this one!
I love Celebration Foundation, too! And those It Cosmetics brushes are amazing!
The Clinique CC cream is one of the best! I totally forgot to include it!
I am on my second tube of the Clinique CC Cream already. I had to go darker for summer but I finished up the first tube already. It is really good one
I really need to find a good powder to go over the tinted moisturizer (Laura Mercier) that I use. I tried one of hers, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted. Still looking and might give this one a try Teri.
Brooke - We know our stuff. That powder is amazing!
Eugenia - You have to try it. I was really surprised how much I like it.
Nancy - Yay for great brushes. They are so good, aren't they?
Kelly - Glad to hear you are a fan too. I wear it almost daily.
Janet - Yes, it is really good. I love the consistency and coverage, especially for the summer.
Piper - I bet you will really like this one. You can buff it on with their airbrush foundation brush and get a lot of coverage, or use it like I do with a fluffier brush for just a bit of coverage and to "set" it.
I haven't tried the Clinique but I'll be at Nordstrom soon so I'll check it out. You are always raving about it. I didn't think to use my It Celebration foundation over a CC Cream but that's a great idea. The It brushes are amazing and would give it just the right amount of coverage.
Marcia - Definitely try the Celebration Foundation over the CC Cream. It will give you that little extra boost and coverage to get through the day.
I sometimes add in that same powdered foundation for a bit more coverage. I love that it covers but looks so natural!
I need to check out BOTH of these!
CLINIQUE is simply love!
Oooooh!!!! I must try this CC Cream! I like the Clinique BB cream but this sounds so much better! Plus, I am a huge fan of all of their moisture surge products. :)
I love the IT foundation as well. What a cool combo!
Layering is a great idea!
Christine - You are so right about the Celebration Foundation as it does offer more coverage and it always looks so natural. It really is a favorite of mine.
Peta - Clinique has always been a favorite brand of mine.
Pammy - Grab a sample next time you're at the mall. I bet you'll love it!
Christina - So glad to hear you are a fan!
Cindy - I have to layer to get natural looking coverage. It's hard to hide my age.
