Get the Look: Naomi Watts at the 2011 MET Ball.

For her look at the MET Ball last night, Naomi Watts was made up by celebrity makeup artist Jo Strettell.

Inspiration:
“Naomi was wearing the most beautiful sheer, peachy-beige dress with long sleeves and a fitted body with layers of a billowing skirt made in the finest net and encrusted with diamonds, which was absolutely  breathtaking.  I wanted to contrast the sparkly fairy feeling by creating strong eyes, a contoured cheek and a pale, beige-nude with a hit of grey.”

How-To:
“To prepare the skin, I used CHANEL Sublimage La Crème.  Then I evened out the skin to a natural, glowy finish using CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Tendre.

On the eyes, I used colors from the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Mystic Eyes, lining the lash line above and below and lining the socket line with CHANEL Intense Eye Pencil in Ambre, and then blending and smoking with the darker brown eyeshadow shade from the palette.  Next, I started highlighting the inside corner and ball of the lid, as well as the brow bone, with the lighter color in the Quad.  I then curled the lashes and applied CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir.

I used a golden blush to contour the cheeks, and then finished the look with CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Biarritz on the lips.”

Get the Look: Maggie Gyllenhaal at the 2011 MET Ball.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was made up by celebrity makeup artist Benjamin Puckey for last nights MET Ball.

Inspiration:
“Maggie chose a beautiful blue sequined dress to wear, so we decided to keep the makeup very polished and luminous with a pop of glossy color on the lips.  Maggie still had an amazing glow from a recent vacation that we wanted to accentuate as well.”

How-To:
“I started with a light touch of CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 in Beige-Tendre to even out her skin tone and CHANEL Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Bronze Rosé applied on the top of her cheekbone and temples.

The eyes were kept fresh and defined with the shimmering beige shades in the CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Dunes. Two coats of CHANEL Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir accentuated her long lashes.

We chose CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Elise, a berry-rose shade, to complement the blue sequined dress and applied it without a lip liner just as a glossy lip stain.”

Get the Look: Sophia Vergara at the 2011 MET Ball.

Sofia Vergara looked beautiful, as usual, at the Met Ball last night.  Her makeup was done by Celebrity Makeup Artist Kayleen McAdams.

Sofia Vergara wore a Carolina Herrera and it was all in the eyes for this beauty look!

For skin I wanted her to have a silky, light look; I used COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg and set that with COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Warm Beige and used COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow. This gave her a warm look with soft cheeks.

We wanted to make the focus of this look the eye so we went with a strong black liner but as a subtle cat eye rather than a harsh line.

In order to give the liner staying power, I like to layer different products.  I started by lining the eye into a cat eye shape with COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Black Fire and then went over that same line with COVERGIRL LineExact Liquid Liner  in Very Black.

I then blended dark chocolate brown eyeshadow starting from the outer corners and blending in towards the center.

Along the bottom lash line I used the COVERGIRL LiquilineBlast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze and blended the liner with a black shadow to set it.

I then used two coats of the COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara in Very Black to thicken the lashes and finish her look.

For her hair, Sophia was styled by Hair Stylist Gio Campora.

Beauty Inspiration:

“For Sofia's hair, I wanted to add volume and texture for a natural yet elegant look.”

Get the Look:

“I started by using Phyto Volumizing Spray at the base of the roots and then added some Fekkai Mousse for extra volume and thickness throughout her hair. I then used a round brush and a blow dryer in order to give her hair even more volume. I took small sections and pulled each one upwards with the round brush while blowing it dry to give the roots a lift. Once her hair was dry and volumized, I used a teasing comb at the roots in order to help maintain the volume and thickness. To add texture, I used a curling iron for soft, light curls to add natural looking waves. Lastly, I used Elnett hairspray to finish off the look.”
