Taylor Swift at the 2012 American Music Awards.

COVERGIRL Taylor Swift looked beautiful at the 2012 American Music Awards, of course. Her makeup was created by makeup artist, Lorrie Turk. All of her makeup was by COVERGIRL.

"Taylor wanted her knock-out dress to be the inspiration for her AMA red carpet look.  She wanted a high-impact look, and we needed one that could also be easily altered to go into her performance look.

I lightly buffed COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation onto her face with a synthetic foundation brush, and powdered only through the center of her face to leave a nice dewy finish on her skin. I then lightly brushed on TruBlend Minerals Blush in True Romance for some soft color and shimmer.

I started by dabbing on (using my fingertip) COVERGIRL Intense Shadow Blast in Brown Bling as a base.  Next, I brushed on (with an eyeshadow brush) Eye Enhancers 1-kit shadow in Brown Smolder all over the lid, from the lash-line to just beneath her brow bone and her lower lash-line. Using Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire, I then lined her upper and lower lash-line heavily, blending up and out to eliminate hard lines, leaving her eyes soft and smoky. We finished with several coats of (New!) LashBlast Clump Crusher mascara in Very Black.

Lastly, I used NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Grenache, applying it directly from the tube."

Taylor Swift's gorgeous makeup look for this weeks MTV VMA's was created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Lorrie Turk. Look how beautiful she looks wearing all COVERGIRL products. Of course she was rocking her signature red lips.

I am in awe of her eyes and want to copy that look! Read on to see how Lorrie created the look.

Taylor wanted her VMA makeup look to be inspired by her new CD, Red, and by the sophistication of the sleek ivory suit she wore on the red carpet.  We knew that a strong red lip color would be perfect for the evening, but also wanted her eyes to stand out with bold liner.

How face products were applied:

COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation was buffed in with a damp sponge, leaving a dewy even finish.  COVERGIRL Fresh Complexion Under-Eye Concealer was lightly patted on with a fingertip to brighten up the area under her eyes.  Since her eyes and lips were strong, we wanted just a hint of color on her cheeks.  I dusted COVERGIRL Classic Color Blush in Soft Mink lightly along her cheekbones.

How eye products were applied:

I brushed on COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Champagne from her lash line to the crease, concentrating the color in the inner corners of her eyes for sparkle. In the eye crease and slightly above, I brushed COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Tapestry Taupe, which is a great color to add a bit of warmth to the eyes without adding too much color For the defined bold eyeliner, I used COVERGIRL LineExact Liquid Liner.  Starting at the inner corners of her eyes, I drew outward to the end of the eyes, going from thin to thicker with the liner and flicked up when reaching the end of the eye to create a cat-eye look.  On the lower lash line, I used a damp detailer brush dipped in COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Brown Smolder and brushed it into the lower lash line for a less-defined line on the bottom. I finished the eyes with COVERGIRL LashBlast Fusion Mascara.

How lip products were applied:

Using a lip brush, COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Hot was applied to her lips for a perfect bold red mouth.

Get the Look: Taylor Swift at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.

Makeup Artist Lorrie Turk created the makeup for COVERGIRL spokesperson Taylor Swift at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. She used all COVERGIRL products, of course.

As Taylor was being honored with the Billboard's Woman of the Year Award, she wanted her look to be timeless, yet still a little edgy and strong.

"COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation was lightly applied using a damp sponge which ensures a light dewy application. I used a small concealer brush to sweep on a bit of COVERGIRL  Fresh Complexion Under Eye Concealer to lighten up the under eye area, followed with COVERGIRL + Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush lightly brushed along Taylor's cheek bones to give just a touch of color and definition.

With an eyeshadow brush, I applied the cranberry color from COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadow in Blossoms all over the lid from lash line to just above the crease and out past the outer corner of the eye and below her lower lash line as well.  I then lined her eyes with COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire along the upper lash line and then smudged it a bit with a cotton bud.  I did this just a touch on the lower lash line as well. I finished her eyes with 2-3 coats of COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Mascara on both the upper and lower lashes.

Because we went with a stronger eye look, Taylor chose to go with her lips fairly understated and neutral, so I added only a bit of sheer color and shine with COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in Peony over her lips with a lip brush." - Lorrie Turk
