The Ultimate in Luxury!

Synonymous with skin care miracles and ultimate luxury, the legendary Crème de la Mer has inspired a devoted following. And BCA Month has inspired them to create a special pink box.

bca_lamer.jpgIf you don't know too much about Crème de la Mer, it is a very "special" creation from NASA scientist Dr. Max Huber. It is coined the "Miracle Broth"  and has a devoted cult-like following. The price? 1 oz. $110 (not available in BCA packaging), 2 oz. $195, or the ultimate in luxury 16.5 oz. for $1200.

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to have a special batch made up just for moi. Now, this was when there was only Crème de la Mer, no other special treatment products that are currently in the line.  It was a small sample, but just enough for a few weeks to try it out.  I remember it being too rich for my entire face, but I really liked it around my eye area.

Being older (and much drier - skin wise) with a few lines around my eyes, I wonder how I would feel about it now. I must admit that I am intrigued by the eye balm, and may just have to see if there are samples available.

All in all, I think that if you were ever in the market for Crème de la Mer, now is the time to purchase where a bit of the money will do some good. La Mer will donate $25,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Facial Fuel.

My husband's skin has been acting funny lately. It has been oily and irritated more than usual from shaving. So I did a bit of research and decided that he should try a new cleanser, just for men, from Kiehl's. It is called Facial Fuel Energizing Face Wash.

It is a great smelling gel that lathers just a bit when applied to a wet face. It thoroughly cleanses his skin, leaving it very fresh feeling and better yet, soft and smooth - a perfect surface for shaving.

The formula is full of great things like caffeine, menthol, vitamin E, and lemon and orange peel extracts. It is balanced just so that the oils, the ones that men seem to plagued with, are washed away without stripping the skin of the oils the skin needs - making it over-dry.

My hubby likes it, swears he gets a closer shave after using it, and I think his skin looks more evenly toned, after only a few weeks of usage.

Facial Fuel now has a permanent place in his shower. It retails for $16.00 and is available wherever Kieh's is sold, as well as kiehls.com.

In Need of a Quick Fix.

If you are like me and notice your skin (particularly my face) getting drier or tighter as the day goes on, you probably wonder what you can do for a quick pick me. Now I am talking a full face of makeup on - not something you really can mess with moisture wise.

mac_fix.jpgWhen I was at the MAC store this past weekend, I presented this very question to my artist. He suggested FIX+ for a "quick fix".  FIX+ is a very lightweight moisture mist in a spray bottle.

It is very simple to use - with or without makeup. All you do is hold the bottle about 12 inches from you face, and spray a few mists over it. Voila! Instant refreshment - and my skin feels so much better for it. It dries nice and quick too.

I have used it in the mid-afternoon the last few days, and it not only made my skin feel fresher, it made my face look much fresher as well.

FIX+ is just $15 and deserves a spot in your handbag.
