Yes, I am taking a skin care break from irritants, harsh exfoliants and peels. What I am not taking a break from is soothing extras like masks that soothe, protect and hydrate my skin. One recent discovery that has become a quick favorite is Kiehl’s Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque. My favorite thing about this mask is that it works to refresh, revitalize and soothe my skin in a quick five minutes.

You can see right through this clear gel mask and notice that there are flower petals in it. Those flower petals are hand-picked calendula flower petals and they are combined with aloe vera to provide a quick burst of cooling hydration to the skin. It is surprisingly lightweight, feels immediately soothing and once I remove it leave my skin feeling extremely smooth and soothed. It is just what I need as we are still suffering from cooler-than-normal temperatures this early spring.

Kiehl's also recently introduced a new cream that is 99.6% naturally derived (free of parabens, mineral oil, added colors and fragrances), and I have been following the mask with this new Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream as an added bonus for my skin.

Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream uses New Zealand Manuka honey and Korean red ginseng root at the heart of this natural formula. The texture is rich and comforting upon contact. It immediately hydrates the skin as the ingredients help skin resist further hydration loss while aiding recovery from existing skin damage. It feels amazing on and makes my skin glow as soon as I apply it.
