The Best 10 MAC Cosmetics Products for Spring.

It seems like MAC Cosmetics launches a new collection of makeup every other week! They might even do it more often than that come to think of it. They have so many new MAC products on tap for spring that even my head is spinning. Instead of just running down the entire MAC collection of their latest launches like I normally do, I thought I should simply share the best of their newest spring collections.

MAC must-haves for spring

I've been trying quite a few of the new MAC products that have come out since the beginning of the year and have narrowed it down and these are really the must-haves! These products are the best 10 MAC Cosmetics products for spring.

10 MAC Must Haves for Spring

1. MAC Eye Shadow X 9 Palette - From the Eyes on MAC Anniversary collection, there are six new nine pan palettes. I am really obsessed with the Amber Times Palette and highly recommend this one for those wanting a natural look with hints of gold.  Buy it for $32 at Nordstrom as well as maccosmetics.com

2. MAC Matchmaster Shade Intelligence Compact - This compact foundation offers the most glorious light to medium coverage that looks so natural and beautiful on the skin. My skin just looks so even and flawless when wearing, yet so real. Buy it for $36 in department stores like Nordstrom, Macy's, etc. and maccosmetics.com.

3. MAC Lustre Drops - I've always been a fan of Lustre Drops and they usually launch in a summer collection, but I was thrilled to see them come out with Future MAC. I picked them up in Barbados Girl which is a rose gold. This is a liquid illuminator/bronzer that adds a beautiful soft sheen to the cheeks. Buy it for $21 at maccosmetics.com.

4. MAC Versicolour Stain - A longwearing lipgloss stain? Yes please! This one delivers on the longwear and feels nice on the lips. This gloss/stain hybrid has a jelly-like texture and feels comfortable on the lips as it lasts a good six hours with true color. Lips can start to feel dry the longer it wears (it even warns you of this on the website) so it is recommended to wear over MAC Prep + Prime Lip which I recommend. Buy it for $24 at maccosmetics.com or

5. MAC All The Right Angles Contour Palette - Let's face it, contouring is not going anywhere. Contouring the right way without "over-contouring" is the key. That means, you need the right product or contour palette and that is really what MAC's All the Right Angles collection is about. This one portable palette contains a finely tuned Cream Colour Base, plus a Sculpting and Shaping Powder in your perfect tone. Buy it for $40 at maccosmetics.com or Nordstrom.

6. MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow X 4 Nano-Nude - I love the MAC Mineralize shadow formula so when I saw the palettes in the Future MAC collection, I knew I had to have one and Nano-Nude is perfection. Featuring four beautiful nude baked shades, these look and feel so creamy rich on the lids and last! I just love the texture and the gold with pearl shade is the perfect accent for spring. Buy it for $46 at maccosmetics.com or Nordstrom.

7. MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner - These kohl-like liners go the distance and are super easy to apply with their twist up barrel. This pencil glides on with ease and is one of the best waterliners that I've ever used. I like a lot of the shades, but Polar Ice (the white) is a must have for the waterline to open up the eyes. Buy it for $17 at maccosmetics.com as well as Macy's and Nordstrom.

8. MAC Studio Eye Gloss in Pearl Varnish - I was loving the glossy eye looks I saw on the runways at NYFW and this eye gloss from the Future MAC collection is the answer. This clear, balm-like eye shadow applies almost clear and leaves eyes with just the right amount of sparkle. It is gorgeous on the eye alone and very pretty OVER a powder eye shadow. Do not mistake this as an eye shadow base. Buy it for $22 at maccosmetics.com and counters in Nordstrom and Macy's.

9. MAC Studio Tech - So, this isn't a new product, but is is a favorite, espcially whenmy skin is dry like it has been. What is new about this fabulously innovative foundation is that it now comes in five new deep shades. If you've never tried Studio Tech, this foundation blends emollients and powder along with water so it feels nourishing on the skin but covers and lets skin breathe. Buy it for $33 at maccosmetics.com and at MAC counters in Macy's.

10. MAC Air of Style - MAC is obviously not known for fragrance so when they came out with this small collection, I had to run out and give it a whiff; I was very impressed. The scent is a sexy, floral with an unexpected blend. I love the pink packaging which also inspired four pink lipsticks that are coming soon! Buy it for $22 - $49.50, depending on size, at maccosmetics.com.

Spring 2016: Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Collection.

Tarte's spring 2016 collection Rainforest of the Sea™ is not only a beautiful makeup collection, it includes skincare that contains their new complex appropriately named Rainforest of the Sea™. This complex is tarte's next generation of ingredients that are made up of powerful antioxidant-rich algae and marine extracts to not only defend against environmental aggressors like all antioxidants, but these ingredients are designed to brighten and lend to a more radiant complexion. It's extraordinary to infuse that into makeup along with skincare that works right with the color products, don't you think?

Everything from the packaging to the products in the Rainforest of the Sea™ collection are breathtakingly beautiful. Once I saw the Eyeshadow Palette and Lighting Palette, I knew this was a must-have collection for the season.

I ordered the Rainforest of the Sea™ Eyeshadow Palette ($34) the second I saw it. This limited edition eyeshadow palette features eight beautiful shadows that are so luxe, they are almost creamy. This is tarte's formula that is velvety; I've always been a fan. This new formula with the Rainforest of the Sea™ complex hydrates and brightens the lids with the creamy powder formula. It feels amazing on and lasts all day. They are pigmented, buildable and never crease. The palette contains shades for your lid, brow bone, lining, creasing — everything is in this palette. The shades range from ivory and gold to bronze and dark brown.

I'm also really liking the Rainforest of the Sea™ Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette ($42). With three shades for strobing and highlighting that work for all complexions, this is a palette you need to look at it. These perfecting powders feel amazing on the skin and do what they are intended for in a beautiful way. These shades reflect light off the skin to give it a soft focus glow when use correctly. It's not that difficult you just have to play with them and make it work for you. These shades will seriously work for all complexions as noted. The middle shade is a matte shade and it's actually a setting powder to use under the eyes and brighten/correct darkness. This is probably my favorite power in the palette because I find a lot of brightening powders highlight the fine lines around my eyes, but being a matte brightening formula, this one brightens and seems to blur the area diffusing any lines. The other shades are luminous perfecting powders for illuminating the contours and highs and lows of the face. They are not hard lighting powders and just give off a beautiful, natural glow to the skin. The easiest way to apply the powders in the Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette is with the Double-Ended Highlighter Brush ($34) which was made especially for the collection.

The other standouts in the collection for me is the Rainforest of the Sea™ Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette ($45) and the Rainforest of the Sea™ Drench Lip Splash Lipstick ($22).

I told you how important color-correcting was earlier this week in my top color-correcting makeup post and if I had tried the Rainforest of the Sea™ Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette before then, this palette would have definitely made the list. This all-in-one color-correcting palette features six creamy shades that works with any skintone to conceal and correct things like dark circles, redness and acne. It also has shades to contour and highlight the skin. The texture is easy to use and blend over the skin. It does not settle into the skin or fine lines — it actually seems to glide over them and minimizes the look of imperfections while giving it a brightened, soft focus look.

The shades of the Rainforest of the Sea™ Wipeout Color-Correcting Palette are numbered and it comes with a visual guide so application is simple. You can use your fingers to apply and blend or use the limited-edition Rainforest of the Sea™ Color-Correcting Brush ($24) which does ensure a flawless application. Its double-ended and was made for applying and blending cream products.

I have two shades of the Rainforest of the Sea™ Drench Lip Splash Lipstick. I was sent the shade Top-Down to try and after trying it and really liking the formula (I told you I was embracing this matte trend), I ordered Skinny Dip. Rainforest of the Sea™ Drench Lip Splash Lipstick is a satin matte lipstick that offers full coverage with not too much of a dull matte appearance on the lips. This is more of a creamy matte lipstick that is super hydrating. Again, this is because of tarte's Rainforest of the Sea™ complex which is combined in the lipstick with natural butters and oils. That means, the matte formula does not settle into the lines of the lips like a lot of matte shades nor does it dry out the lips. I am actually going to order more. There are actually 12 shades available from light nude dark blackberry.

The Rainforest of the Sea™ also features a unique 12-hour Water Foundation, Aquacealer Concealer, So Fine Micro-liner, Quench Lip Rescue and some skincare products that are all infused with the Rainforest of the Sea™ complex. I tried the Rainforest of the Sea™ Deep Dive Cleansing Gel which did a nice job at removing makeup and cleansing the skin while leaving it feeling hydrated. The tarte Rainforest of the Sea™ collection is available now at tartecosmetics.com and Sephora where it is an exclusive collection.
