Happy National Lipstick Day beauties! Finally, one of these celebratory days to honor a beauty product.
There is no better beauty product to honor than a lipstick.
- The first swivel tube of lipstick was invented 95 years ago in 1923.
- It was reported that last year alone, over 119 million women used lipstick.
- Avon sells more than 2 million tubes of lipstick a year
- The average makeup wearing woman buys 8 tubes of lipstick per year.
- A nude lipstick makes a woman feel more confident than any other shade.
- The average woman (who wears lipstick) will use 9 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime.
- 30% of your lipstick ends up in your stomach.
- Lipstick is the most commonly shoplifted items in beauty stores.
- The average woman that wears makeup owns more than 20 lipsticks.
- Around the world, 800 to 900 million tubes of lipstick are sold per year.
With all of that said, I, myself am definitely obsessed with lipstick. I own more lipsticks, with lipgloss a close second, than any other beauty product. I am constantly buying new lipsticks and simply cannot stop.
This year there have been a lot of new lipstick launches and we are just halfway through the year. In honor of National Lipstick Day, instead of sharing my favorites, like I usually do, I thought I would share my favorites out of the new launches for this year so far.
Without further adieu, here are my favorite new lipsticks for 2018.

1. COVERGIRL Exhibitionist Lipstick
COVERGIRL Exhibitionist Lipstick is a brand new launch from COVERGIRL just in time for National Lipstick day and I was super excited to try this new formula. With 48 shades in a highly pigmented formula, there is something for everyone in the Exhibitionist Lipstick collection. The first thing I noticed when I applied Darling Kiss, my favorite nude-pink shade, I noticed how creamy smooth it was. The formula is infused with shea butter and it feels so good on the lips as it lasts a good part of the day (six hours before I noticed fading). A full review with a rundown of the colors will be coming later this week. $7.99 at Ulta
2. Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse
Urban Decay's Lo-Fi Lip Mousse is a new purple potted wonder product. It is light and airy with a weightless whipped feel. It is pigmented! Apply it with your finger for the best look possible and just be wowed by the ease of use. I was blown away by how this works, looks and feels. My lips have a pretty, light stained look of color once I dab it on; dabbing is the key. After applying Lo-Fi, my lips are super soft and smooth with color that rocks all day long. This new innovation comes in eight all-new shades, from cashmere-soft baby pink to plum purple and so many varieties that will have your lips looking just bitten. $22 at urbandecay.com and Sephora
3. MAC Plenty of Pout Plumping Lipstick
I love me a great MAC Lipstick and Plenty of Pout Plumping Lipstick does NOT disappoint. It gives a subtle, plump pout, with a bit of a tingle. What I really love is that the color lasts a good part of the day and is really moisturizing. Read my complete review here. $21 at maccosmetics.com

7. MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor Metallics
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor Metallics launched at the very beginning of this year and wow the newly update metalized shades blew me away. I've always been a fan of the fully-saturated, liquid-suede lip colors, but the new formula with the on-trend metallic finish with a soft finish and super smooth feel. Pearl Punk and Softly Rockin' are my go-to nude everyday metallic shades. Read my full review here. $21 at maccosmetics.com

9. NARS Full Vinyl Lip Lacquer
NARS Full Vinyl Lip Lacquer is SO much more than a lipgloss, in my opinion, so I am adding it to my favorite lipsticks. Yes, it adds a ton of shine to lips, but these shades also add a ton of color and are not meant to be worn over lipstick. I am obsessed with this product and reach for Cape Town and Valencia a few times a week. Read my complete review here. $26 at narscosmetics.com
10. GrandeLips Plumping Liquid Lipstick
GrandeLips Plumping Lipstick is one that I use often because I love a liquid lipstick and I love a subtle plump lip. This comes in twelve gorgeous shades that offer a long-lasting plumping lip look without the burn. I definitely notice an increase in lip volume. $25 at Amazon

You might be thinking what? Urban Decay Vice Lipstick isn't new? Well, the formula is updated and there are so many new shades for 2018— 135 shades in total. With six different finishes and a buttery formula that nourishes lips, I could not leave Vice Lipstick out. 13. Maybelline Shine Compulsion High Shine Lipstick
Maybelline Shine Compulsion by Color Sensational is a SUPER shiny lipstick that I am really impressed with. I picked up a few shades at CVS recently and these are good! This hydrating lipstick is made up of 60% reflective oils to provide not only a ton of shine, but the formula is ultra-moisturizing that basically melts upon contact with the lips. These colors are pigmented though, don't get me wrong. There are a ton of shade options from nudes to red and anything in between. $7.99 at Ulta
14. Soap & Glory Peach Pout Completely Balmy Lipstick
Soap & Glory Peach Pout Completely Balmy Lipstick is a twist-up lipstick that feels like a true lip balm and I not only like how it feels, it smells divine, too. This lipstick comes in three peach-tinted shades, all of which are perfect for summer. $12 at Ulta
15. Models Own Cheat Day Lip Glaze
Models Own Cheat Day Lip Glaze is a very unique liquid lipstick/gloss hybrid product that I just could not leave off this list. It comes in three delectable shades that simply look good enough to eat. These offer full coverage in a formula that dries down to a matte metallic finish. They are a bit drying, so it is best to apply them over a lip balm. $6.99 at Ulta
16. Wander Beauty Lipsetter
Wander Beauty Lipsetter is a unique lipstick. It is double-sided; one side offers a full-on pigmented lip crayon and a coordinating liner is on the other side. I keep this in my handbag because it is super convenient for on-the-go. I highly recommend the shades Flirty in Fiji and Bahama Breeze. $28 at Sephora
17. NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm
So, NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm is not exactly a lipstick, but I wear it as one, especially on a no-makeup or light makeup day all.the.time. It is super hydrating and offers the pretties shimmering lighters pinky-peach natural shade of color. Read my full review here. $28 at Sephora
