Curl Hair with a Flat Iron Like a Pro!

I've been growing my hair for the last two years since having a botched hair cut. I haven't had more than my layers or ends trimmed since then, and I am really happy with how my hair is shaping up.

I am even growing my bangs out for the first time since I have been seven or eight years old.

As I have been experimenting with different styling techniques, I have been learning to curl my longer layers with a flat iron.

Before using a flat iron, I've found that it helps to use dry shampoo at the roots to give hair volume and then hair texturizing spray to give my hair some texture and grip.

Can you believe that I've given up hair spray? Not really!

Instead of giving a total dose of hair spray all over, I use hair texturizing spray again to hold most of my curls in place and then give my hair a final once over at the very end with a very light finishing spray.

This tutorial was SO helpful to me and I totally got it on the first try (I love how she said to practice with the flat iron off, first).

I would wrap my hair around my curling wand all the time, so this technique made perfect sense to me and was simple.

This tutorial is very easy to follow and I love the bouncy curls. I think the key is definitely sectioning off your hair, which is something I often would skip but have learned my lesson.
